Yea there is that, though....the next one could do the 4 across route
I didnt like that system at all (1-1-2 or whatever it is). they leave the points free to skate straight into the high slot unattended. and just focus on the seam passes. Does anyone else run that system? I dont think its personnel, i think its a bad system.

Lol.. we have a replacement. There is a place for that perspective. Axl never bothered me - then i again i dont mind hearing chop sticks played on the piano over and over again.

You're seriously thinking 20 year old Byfield looks like he's going to be a 4th liner???? Or 21 year old Kaliyev?? You really think he's destined to be a 4th line player??

Lol the pessimism is REAL with this fan base.

You guys may be right... But for this team's sake I hope you aren't. <3
The boards are always toxic after playoff losses and I think HFboards in particular since it's roots are a prospect website always has a fetish for burning things down and rebuilding.

Turcotte and picks for Tom Wilson. Cap dump Peterson and prospect for kassian

Flame away muahahah

Don’t do drugs
You're better off bringing back Kyle Clifford or Wayne Simmonds than trading for Kassian.

Do you even LIKE the Kings???? I mean seriously

You don't think this team has any chance to win with Kopitar/Doughty. You think people who buy season tickets are 'suckers'. You (seemingly) don't believe in any of the team's prospects/young players. And you're on these message boards harassing people that try to be positive about the team's future.

Just seems weird ngl
I am curious, how much do the Kings pay a summer intern to be a social media "ambassador"?

Rosen just casually dropping an absolute bomb in his latest article, saying he's confirmed with several sources that Turcotte was Blake's pick, overriding Yanetti whose choice was Zegras, and also kind of casually motherf***ing his character (with evidence, not Rosen just going off), painting him as a little bit of prick or primadonna

Once in a great while his tone is like he's pissed or fed up, this is one of those articles, and it's free. Scathing but really fair write.

The Sekera trade was made for a team that has just won the Cup and needed to replace Voynov while knowing that they would most likely not be able to re-sign Sekera (still believe DL thought Voynov would be able to play again). Some pundits were picking the Kings to win the whole thing that year even with their bad record at the TDL...that seven game win streak and the team's resume from the last three years earned them that.

This trade was done for a team that went to Game 7 of the 1st round the year before after being one of the worst teams in the league the few years prior. This is more of a Dustin Penner type trade except Penner was still under contract whereas both of the CBJ guys are total UFAs. Gavrikov goes on to play like a total stud and probably ups his value as a UFA while the Kings are still out in less games than the year before.

After the emotion of Quick being shitcanned subsided, it was pretty clear that this was most likely going to be a waste of a 1st round pick. Is it a good trade if they re-sign Gavrikov? Debatable. If you get him at a nice discount because he enjoyed his time here then maybe but it is pretty rough when you think you can trade futures because your prospect pool is so awesome when it turns out it might not be that awesome. Seems like what Lombardi was crucified for at the end but at least he was trying to "win now" for 11 and 8 when they were eight years younger than today.
Totally agree that's why I said that the team wasn't ready to take a swing like the one they did.

Thanks for sharing this. Interesting that Turcottes teammates in multiple places didnt like him. He seems like a team first guy…
If Blake did override Yanetti and the scouts and not pick Zegras it makes it sting even more.

Some don't seem to understand that between Marcel Dionne, then Wayne Gretzky, and on to Kopitar the long and distinguished list of 1C's on the Kings included the likes of Stumpel, Armstrong, etc.

...but I get it, when Kopitar is done if Byfield doesn't pan out due to piss poor development or some other reason, you just trade for a 1C. You just go to a team that has a great 1C and get him from them.

All it costs is a set of steak knives.

i appreciate rosen not pulling any punches

that was fair, but pretty scathing at the base of it

it's a big f***in problem if blake is overriding his scouting guys, and he better bear the responsibility when they don't pan out as expected

Its cool that for once we get something like this as opposed to the constant soft ball interviews and puff pieces.

Marcus Foligno is a name I would look at.

The top 9 forwards are set unless the Kings deal Arvidsson pending his UFA year.

Kempe-Kopitar-Arvidsson
Moore-Danault-Iaffalo
Fiala-Byfield-Vilardi

The 4th line is the issue.

Grundstrom, Kupari, JAD, MacEwen, Kayilev, and Lizotte.

Also, now Thomas and Fagemo are waiver eligible.

The most likely to be moved are the biggest contracts - Lizotte and Grundstrom.

Kayilev is blocked now, so he is likely trade bait also.

I would love a 4th line of Foligno-Kupari-Fagemo.

Let's not go making this an unquestioned truth just because it showed up in one article.

"Perhaps it’s simply a reflection of not quite fitting in with an insular and often obtuse hockey culture, but teammates in the L.A. organization and Eisbären Berlin, with whom he trained early in the 2020-21 season, were not quick to warm to him."

This does not match any of my personal experiences and I am honestly totally confused as to where this take comes from. This is not me caping for the organization or it's players. There have been plenty of criticisms leveled against the team, the players the staff etc that I have not said anything about sometimes because I agreed, sometimes because it doesn't do me any good to publicly battle anybody I disagree with.

This?

This runs contrary to everything I have personally experienced and frankly I am a little disappointed and will be upset if it becomes as commonly repeated as the "Brock Faber would only play in Minnesota" line.

To be clear... that one sentence is the exact OPPOSITE of everything I have personally seen and heard.

How is it a win? The team was on pace to be a 1st round loser with or without them. What are they winning by moving closer to the cap, having their youth pushed down further and exposed to waivers, and only getting an extra win or two while losing chances at good prospects?
I would consider plugging the two biggest holes on the roster for a pick in the 20's a win. I completely disagree with the fact that this team was 1st round fodder, we were a top 5 team in the league this year from start to finish and finished with 104 points despite getting 880 sv% for the first third of the season, we were the second best team in the west post deadline behind... the Oilers. We got ****ed by drawing them round 1 and having to limp in without 2 of our top scorers. As for the youth being pushed down (they did that themselves outside of Spence/Clarke), for better or worse the "rebuild" ended once we signed Danault and it's obvious the organization wants to compete right now trying to milk whatever they can from the Doughty/Kopitar era. Sadly this means that we're probably looking down the barrel of a true rebuild once Kopi's play falls off a cliff which is inevitably soon considering he's turning 36 and the only realistic successor in Byfield looks like he's not close to taking that mantle. With the weak field of teams in the NHL this year this team could've absolutely gone on a run.

Yes very surprised by this also. This one may spread like wildfire shortly. Turcotte has character issues narrative.

This just keeps getting worse. He took the word of Tony Granato over his scouts? Country club indeed.
Luc is all about the organizational and former teammate nepotism. I wouldn't be surprised if Blake is the same way. Of course, someone like Yanetti isn't to be trusted to do his job.
