Speculation: LA Kings Offseason Thread

Really bummed that my favorite player since the moment he was drafted (Gabe) who finally was given a chance and indeed blossomed is gonna be traded. Each time he was on the ice he was a difference maker and you could see he was one of the best players on the ice. At least we had game 3 -- what an OT assist play that was to Moore.

Good thing I didn't buy his jersey. Was about to as I didn't think they'd move him. But agree with what you said, going to miss him.

As of now Vilardi is the only piece that truly hurts.

Iaffalo is a nice player but he isn’t a true core piece and Kupari I just don’t think is more than he is currently.

If LA is worried about Gabe’s health than maybe they try and sell high when they can.

Biggest aspect is opening up a top nine spot for Kaliyev (top 6 likely) and creating a spot for Fagemo.

Lot of culture change with the past few moves.

Hope PLD is worth it. Opinions seem split on him.

Feels like we’ll be watching Vilardi and Co blow up in Winnipeg and the announcers will be marveling what a master stroke of a trade it was by Chevy.

Kind of like DL dumping Lubo for a couple guys nobody’s heard of in LA.

That looks like a deeper lineup to me. Grundstrom should fill that last spot, plus Fagemo should be on the roster as well.

Not even worried about PLD's attitude, Danault will be a great mentor for him. It's his cap hit this season that will affect us from plugging other holes.

The ripple affect of this possible trade might not be so positive as well. Iafallo, Vilardi and I'll include Durzi were great team mates.

On a positive note, a lineup of Kopi-Kempe + Fiala-PLD and the Danault line, is a very solid team.

Only thing i can think of (beside a QB perm wing move), is the Byfield moves to Center next year and Kopi retires. But i thought Kopi wanted to keep playing and an extension would be likely. so now idk.

Lizzo is a nice story but his time as a King should end. He would be good on a bigger team like the 2012-2015 Kings or current LV team. But a team that is so small and lacks physicality just can't afford to have him centering a line unless he's some offensive dynamo (obviously not).
