Ok, so I just watched the highlights of Vilardi and Dubois over the past season and it's clear to me that Vilardi is the better player. I really, REALLY hope that this is not happening.

IMO this is the only way to make the trade palatable for this year. Jets sign PLD for one year and retain salary in the deal with a handshake agreement that he'll sign long term as soon as Jan 1 rolls around and we just hope that PLD doesn't stab us in the back like he's done to his previous two teams. Otherwise you're looking at having to probably dump Arvidsson just to afford a 1B level goalie in FA. It's a terrible idea and will almost certainly blow up in our face but Blake just might be desperate enough to do it.

I think Blake wasn’t allowed till they got the pieces together. It makes no sense and I do think you guys should stop complaining till there is a trade. PLD is the kind of player that we miss A LOT (would love to see him having a chat with Evander Kane next time we meet). Besides Gabe is a great one but his healthy will always be a factor. This trade might resolve some of the redundance of this line up while bringing the much needed thoughness to our top 6

Kane would clean him up in a split second. PLD is not tough. Danault probably has the same amount of "tough" highlights on YouTube.

It's more that he's trying to replace Kopitar and hedging massively against Byfield being that player. This is another indictment of his failure to hit on a Kopitar replacement while drafting centers with every other pick for six straight drafts.

Honestly, do you remember how they just lost two winnable series? How are any of those deficiencies fixed here?

Its just going to be more of the same as last year. Lots of goals, can't hold leads, abused along the walls and in the trenches.
