yeah that THG video was a bit frustrating. it's nice laying out all the stats in front of you like that, but when he injected opinion he seemed uninformed

nailing the youtube meta though, pump out 10+min videos every day, have some arguable opinions, bring it to the comments section which gets you more engagement and ad revenue. props for playing the game right i guess

guessing all his hockey swag can be a tax deduction as a business expense too. I'm not mad I am jealous.

One of these days, between now and March 21....as we click on this main page....it's going to say "The Kings have acquired ______ " All the times I have seen such posts over the years, stop your heart for a moment. Sometimes a second later, you're going WTF?? But most times, I'm pretty ok with it. And every time, it's fun going through the thread and seeing the reactions.

In the written version of his 32 thoughts, Friedman mentions the Kings are pursuing Ben Chiarot (Carolina, Florida, St. Louis also mentioned).

Unless this is part of a sign-and-trade, I can't understand for the life of me why LAK would be interested in an expensive rental dman.

He's a really solid Dman, faces absolute top-quality competition. On a better team he's a force. But yeah, the cost.... Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Even as a UFA he's a little old but that makes more sense.

Chiarot's 5 goals are as much as any King's Dman. LOL

I'm okay with the Kings making a small move, but if they give up a 1st round pick for a rental I will join the fire Bluc bandwagon.

Chiarot's also shooting 50% better than his career shooting percentage this season. That's not something that we can expect to continue.

Chiarot is actually ideal for this team at this time. If the reports on Edler's ankle aren't favorable, and you can speak to his agent regarding a 3 year extension, AND the Kings get thru the next week with solid results, yeah, I would trade what amounts to a middle first round pick and a kid like Kupari.

Solid, physical with some bite - exactly what the PK needs and a good partner for the right shot defenders coming in over the couple of seasons. Definitely not as sexy as Chychrun but would most likely do more to help this team and at a much more reasonable price.

I’d look into Soucy before Chiarot, but yeah I’m on board with your line of thinking.

Really hoping Edler can get back to on the ice, loved what he brought to the team.

For once we agree. Third round pick I could be ok with a Chiarot type trade,or just play the kids.

I’m not super fond of the thought of acquiring Chiarot, and especially not for a bidding-war level price.

It’s certainly more favorable to me than blowing our wad on a trade with Arizona for a certain marquee name, but I’m still not super enthralled with the thought.

Then again, I also wasn’t a fan of bringing O’Donnell back to skate with Doughty way back when, and I couldn’t have been any more wrong there. That was great for the development of the youth.

Regehr and Mcnabb were each basically 2 2nds.

If we give up the equivalent of two mid-to-late first for Chiarot I'd riot.

I appreciate the non-sexy dirty work players that can help the PK but that is just a gross price for a guy simply because he's in MTL instead of Buffalo.

I have resigned myself that there will be a significant move made, and in my opinion the best thing they can get is a physical 2nd pairing defender who can win board and net front battles. Chiarot is the best of those available, and I would much rather that of they are going to err, it better be on the backbone side and not go for the flash.

I like Soucy too, but Chiarot has a hell of a lot more zip to his game and he would be a big help for the Durzi/Clarke/Spence tier of defenders coming in over the next two years.

If you don't get to discuss an extension, forget about it. No rentals for top assets.

Soucy is a sneaky good and effective defenseman. Probably gonna be cheaper than Chiarot. Plus he's scored 6 goals in 33 games so far. Exactly what the Kings need right now (once he's healthy).

That's my big thing here. If Chiarot is the rumored price it's completely beyond not worth it.

You also just described every national broadcast and studio crew!

Which is why I frequently say I tend to ignore anyone that doesn't follow or cover a team (the Kings especially) game in and game out day in and day out.

and I do mean day in and day out..........

(9 people at morning skate today, 6 Kings/Ballys employess *cough*)

Sup Kings fans!

Do you guys think you'd be willing to trade Vilardi? What would you be looking for?

The Bruins desperately need some long term center depth. Looks like he's fallen down your depth chart, but his AHL numbers are still better than our current "best" C prospect in Studnicka. If the price os reasonable, I think giving Gabe a shot makes some sense.
