Absolutely. There hasn't been a complete lack of production, but that third line hasn't found chemistry. I'm all for rotating guys on and off of it, because if that line can get cohesiveness, look out. If it means moving Brown up with Kopitar and one of Kempe/Iafallo moving down, so be it.
Yes that's what needs to happen. Byfield needs someone competent for his line. He just broke into the league and needs some talent next to him. I proposed putting Iafallo and Kempe on his wings, but I got beaten and laughed out of town. Byfield needs new linemates.

Fantastic road trip. Almost two weeks without games now, I wonder if it's gonna affect the groove they're in now. While certainly not perfect, their overall game is good and I'd hate to lose this momentum. A bunch of home games coming up after the break and many of them against division rivals. They need to start winning those.

Proof the line is a dead line and no one will find success on it, it seems. Consider Trevor Moore had 1 goal and 1 assist in 20 games there! Then goes to line 2 and is killing it and had the best production of an King not named Kopitar. I think we simply cannot judge anyone on that line.

Right on the money. Hell, many people thought - including myself - that Moore regressed this season after that promising step up last season and the good performance for Team USA at the World Championships. Turns out that when you get placed on the leftovers line, you're not going to put up numbers. Possession numbers maybe, but not actual scoring.

Random question, how much icetime should a good 3rd line center get, like 12-14 min?

Of 5v5 time, yes. Ideally your 3rd line center can kill penalties as well so any incremental time would depend on the game and how many penalties there are.

And despite 3 long paragraphs, failed to mention another point; that line often goes 8-9 minutes before their next shift. They can never establish any kind of flow. I also notice that QB
will take shorter shifts than the other 2 and like he's scared to be out there long and also always seems more focused on not making a mistake. I have no doubt he's going to be great and
even as soon as the tail end of this season, but certainly by next season. I'd love to see him get PP2 time in front of the net.

For what the Kings are currently looking for, they do.

That line is going to be expected to produce some offense since both Kopitar and Danault are going to be handing the other teams top lines in a potential playoff series. They can do a lot worse than having an elite talent like QB between two 40 point veterans on a "third line"

Sure, they could have Kaliyev up there instead of AA or Brown, but I don't think they want to count on two rookies being able to produce offensively (same reason Turcotte won't be considered). And Kaliyev adds a skill level to Lemieux and Lizotte that has made the line so valuable.

Now maybe that all changes and the Kings acquire Joe Pavelski or Claude Giroux for a rental and Arvidsson or Moore slide down to that line (or the guy traded for slots in there), but until that happens this is probably the best combination of players they can trot out there without messing with the other lines, which have all played excellent.

There will be a time for Turcotte and Fagemo, it just isn't going to be in this years (hopefully) playoff run.

Top notch veterans there. If only.

most likely they will be ass upon return since Todd seems very incompetent

Until Turcotte can accomplish 1/4 of what Brown has accomplished in his career in the NHL,this is a waste of time. This is just the usual need for some to complain about Brown. I will admit,I hope Brown plays on the team for another 2 years, so I can continue to read the Dustin Browns hate clubs entertaining posts. Once Brown retires, the Kings board will never be the same.:(

I'm not saying that all...but I'm also not the one claiming that Turcotte would just tear it up in the playoffs even though he's proven nothing at the NHL level (yet).
Who do you think claimed that?

Show your work to explain your line of thinking.

yes, sir.

Turcotte plays a heavier, meaner game than Brown nowadays. He just isn't the same player you want him to be. Turcotte is exactly the kind of player you want in the postseason.

And you are basing this on what exactly? Watching him in the WJC? His play in Ontario? Sounds like you got Turc all figured out and the coaching staff for the Kings missed the memo.

Might as well take Chych with him. Clark, Turcotte, Kupari, JAD and a first rounder.
Overpayment. Just Kupari and a first. We need the help on the wing. No need to deal Clarke and Turcotte, they are our future. It'll take too long for Kupari to develop and you'll have him in Keller. This would be a great deadline deal trade. One that I think Blake should pull off.

Clarke and Byfield should be automatic hangups if their names come up in talks unless we're talking McDavid or someone who should be even more untouchable.
I think we're buyers at the deadline. I just wonder what it would take to get Keller out of ARI. Would Kupari, JAD, 1st be enough to land Keller? We could really use him on the wing. Or maybe go after the likes of Olofsson in BUF or Batherson in OTT?

I think the Kings are buyers at the deadline and possibly before the deadline. Because they have played hard, succeeded and shown they can beat any team and in any building.
They have been resilient and playing for each other. And the other reason being, this team can make the playoffs, but give them 1 or 2 more top level players; ideally a top 4 LHD
and / or 1 more goal scoring winger, they will push their way into the playoffs...not a rental player, but someone under 30 that has some term. (preferably younger, but do not see them afraid of getting someone upwards of 30-31 with some term and playoff experience)

With over 15 top assets, why not? Would it be more ideal to wait until Summer? Maybe. You do not always have perfect timing and when a certain player you covet can be had,
you make the move. Can keep all untouchables as well. QB, Clarke, Kaliyev and more than likely the next group of untouchables: Turcotte, Chromiak, Faber.
That still leaves a massive pool: Vilardi, Kupari, Grans, Fagemo, Spence, Thomas, JAD, Madden, Andersson, Pinelli, Simontaival, Strand the 2022 1st rounder. ATM would want
to hang onto Moverare and Helenius. Need LHD depth. I would not call Helenius untouchable, but since they signed him and want his size and toughness, think they would
not move him.
