Pretty sick of the neanderthal binary thinking bullshit. There's like 5 posters that can't seem to grasp the idea that you can both like this team and desire change, or that you can hate this team and still see positive. If you can't respect that others can hold multiple nuanced opinions, either see yourself out or I will see you out.

Hint: if you're attacking a poster or group of posters without posting your own original thoughts or some sort of counter-opinion/contribution to the thread, you're probably about to get threadbanned.

Yep, why strive for an "A" in your course when a "C" is a passing grade? Be satisfied with your strengths and ignore your weaknesses. Guarantee you folks don't say to that their kids. Hypocritical is what it is. View your own life under a different lens, but by golly do not point out the areas of improvement of the sports team I root for! Hater!

Hyperbole much? It's pretty simple, critiquing the team or players for stuff is natural, it happens, 2nd guess a decision or several, sure, but where it goes over the line, is some of the just stupid dumbass revisionist alternate reality shit you see posted......now granted it's calmed down the past few weeks, from what I have seen, but when you get people yelling out to fire the coach....because the team didn't execute the powerplay or has a bad powerplay, that's ignoring the 90% of the reason why we are heads and tails above expectations....

RJ for all his lovely faults, absolutely puts Tmac on blast for the PP....rightly or wrongly, deserved or not, but he doesn't cross into that alternate reality of, the team would be XXXXX better without this coach etc....

Subtle things like that make certain posters posts, feel like they think the sky is falling every time they post.

I am beginning to brace myself for missing the playoffs...but think the Kings can pull it off.
Will take some herculean efforts and a few players, playing their best hockey of the year, the final 10 games.

Dallas and Nashville both have 3 games in hand and both hot....Vegas and Edmonton are hot.

In embracing the possible miss, the solace (comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness)
I will have are 2 things:

1. The Kings have had their best season in 4 years and are on the rise. Watching games has been more
fun this season in years.
2. If the Kings miss, Blake will be even more prepared to make 'THE ADD' that will help propel them to the next level. I know he wants to add and missing, will motivate him even more to get a top player. I hope that #1 target is Forsberg. He's 27, the elite winger the Kings need, has 24 pts in last 13 games - when it matters most - trying to get Nashville in the playoffs. If the Kings had him now, with that production the last 13 games, they would be 4-6 points ahead of Calgary.

No fillers, posers or hopefuls. Get the legit top winger that can score 30+ goals and 60+ points and in their prime: Forsberg, Bertuzzi, Debrincat, etc.

A high scoring winger would be great and all, but the team isn’t going to do squat in the playoffs until we get a center outside of Danault bringing it on a consistent basis.

If the Kings are even just 1 game over .500 in the last 10, they end with 98 points...why are so many people 'bracing themselves to miss the playoffs'? And that's going to take a monster effort?

I've been saying it, and I will continue to say it until they prove me wrong (because they deserve the credit) -- no reason to think they will miss the playoffs based on what they've done this year, and yah I'm giving the coaching a lot of that credit (I hope I don't get banned for that).

Vegas just got smoked by VAN, at home. Their hot streak could be over.

Statistic wise that makes sense, but they could still fall out if Vegas goes on another winning streak and we tumble. Vegas is only 4 points behind us, which means that they would just have to win two more games than us to make it.

Edmonton has 1 game in hand and 1 pt ahead of the Kings. If they win tonight, will be 3 ahead.
Nashville has 3 games in hand and 2 pts behind the Kings. They are 6-4 last 10.
Dallas has 3 games in hand and 3 pts behind the Kings. They are 7-3 in last 10.
They all have games in hand on and that is part of the situation.

Yes, it will take a herculean effort, to get in.

I think Kopitar still has it and can deliver. Teams plan for shutting his line down and it has opened up Danault a bit.
Consistency comes in development and will be the biggest step needed out of the likes of QB, Turcotte, Vilardi, Kupari and more. I am not worried yet about it as I think it will come with time. The kings are not winning the cup this year, but playoffs would be nice.

Vegas can flounder and miss, but the Kings have to beat out 1 of the 3 above.

When the hell did Nashville and Dallas move to the Pacific?

LA is in a good spot. I am not confident in the kings to keep on getting points while so depleted on D, but given that every stats page has LA at greater than 80% at getting in we should be more optimistic here.

The Kings don't have to beat out any of those 3. If we finish ahead of Vegas, we make the playoffs in the 3rd division spot.

And for as tough as our next few games are, Vegas does the Vancouver-Calgary-Edmonton trip next week.

Well....The Kings will be in the playoffs for the next 11 games. I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. The Kings are where I wanted them to be at the beginning of the season.....Playing meaningful hockey games the last three weeks of the season.

If they play just like they are playing, and have been playing since January, they will make the playoffs (Shitty Special Teams and all). Second seed, third seed doesn't matter to me. Personally, I think they play better on the road as they tend to be a bit more focused.

HOWEVER, a win tonight will make their lives a little easier.

That is true...I was reading some blog and should have just looked at the NHL standings, with the wild card breakdown and seeing the top 3 in each division. Dallas and Nashville matter not and must beat out Vegas OR Edmonton, for third in Pacific.

They just need to win as many games as Vegas and they are in. If they can't do that then they don't deserve to be there. Looking at their schedules Vegas appears to have more tough games.

EDIT: Looks like you're aware of that now.

We talked to Lemieux today after morning skate. He confirmed that the coaching staff told him he's back in tonight.

Roy looks like he'll be back but that's unconfirmed as of this moment in time to the best of my knowledge.
any word who is coming out?
Grundstrom up front makes sense to me, not sure on D
