Would you guys be interested in:

Dumoulin+Heinen+3rd for Grunstrom+Lemieux?
You have asked what are Kings needs and you receive answer that LA needs physical LD.

After this you are proposing Dumoulin+Heinen.

Neither one of them is physical LD and Heined is not even D.

Why did you ask about Kings needs if you are making proposal like this?

Either now or at the TDL, what would you guys say is your biggest need? Are you looking to upgrade your defense?

Biggest need - our high end draft picks to breakout at the NHL level and consistently play towards their potential.

A bonafide LHD who can anchor that 2nd pairing.

He goaline pipeline to get back on track

While the Kings need LD, I don't think Dumoulin does it.

Plus, the Kings are lacking some grit. While Grundstrom and Lemieux have both had underwhelming seasons, I don't know if I am ready to lose the amount of grit they do bring just to get a LD who might not move the needle much and a winger the Kings don't need.

QB Im sure is pencilled into the bottom 6.. If he doesnt get any PP or OT and just playing 5x5 bottom 6, why bring him up? It wont add much value to the bottom 6 and he wont be getting the minutes or the deployment he needs to work on his game.

Because Dumoulin a big LD who can be physical. He's not a hitting machine but he's far from soft. His jack-of-all-trades skill set is why he's been a Penguins top line dman for years.

Heinen was included as a replacement for Grunstrom and/or Lemieux, whichever one would be in the lineup at any given time. Really, I broke it down like this: Dumo+3rd for Grundstrom; Heinen for Lemieux. I figured Heinen could help bolster the 3rd line scoring similar to what he's done in Pittsburgh.

12 seems optimistic

Where is Herby to rail on the development process.. if ever there is clear evidence, this is it.

Moore and Kaliyev out and STILL can't get Byfield off the 4th

f***ing pathetic
I actually predicted this and someone said for sure he's going to be 3C...and I wrote no way is TM going to demote Lizo for QB edit (i didnt explicitly say that, but implied): GDT: - 2022-23 season game 36 LA Kings vs Calgary Flames @7:30pm 12/22/22

Kopitar was gifted top six minutes from the get go. We’re not saying hand him the keys entirely but it’s bullshit to keep expecting him to progress at the NHL level with the quality of line mates and playing time he’s given.

Blake stuffed the roster with signed forwards... top 6 was accounted for 11 ,9 ,22, 24, 12, 33 - then u have 19, 46, 48, 28, 91 taking up 5 of 6 bottom 6. There was zero planning for incorporating youth onto the team at all... they didnt pencil in 1 of Kaliyev, Vilardi or Byfield in the top 6 (obviously)... and dont have room for them in bottom 6 without injuries or waiving/scratching one or more of the signed forwards.

I notice that Jordan Spence is often scratched from the lineup. Is there a reason? What would the team ask for his trade?

He’s waiver eligible and he’s been playing top pairing minutes in Ontario all year crushing it. We have too many bodies and he can be sent down, that’s the only reason. If he’s traded it’ll be for a LD prospect with similar potential or as part of a package for a top 4 LD in the NHL.

The only guys we’d have any interest in are Guhle and Xhekaj. We need size and toughness at LD to offset our RD which is loaded with puck movers (Doughty, Clarke, Durzi, Spence, Walker, etc). I don’t think there’s a fit since I doubt you’d want to trade either for a deal with Spence as the main piece coming back (but I could be wrong).
