was it me or did Moore kick the puck into Scrivens pad to knock it into the goal. I didn't think it was directly kicked. Idk if thats still a disallowed goal or not though

Guess you don't know the rules of hockey..

Hey he's probably just confused because of that last review against us where the guy did a soccer strike on the puck with his leg coming to a full extension and that counted against the Rangers.

Yup. Pretty much spelled our demise. Refs were on our side and we still couldn't convert. **** happens. :/

Being able to win a faceoff wouldn't of hurt, either. Another key part of games that gets overlooked but it's hard to control the play when you lose a majority of faceoffs.

We lost on a cheesy goal but did not do a good enough job of crashing the net. \

The only play that genuinely irritated me was Zuccarello trying to pass the puck through two guys instead of shooting.

That was kicked in too. That was ok.

Consistency.

Probably the most livid I have ever been at a non-call. That was absolutely inexcusable.

Might have hit Scrivens pad on the way in, but it's definitely still a disallowed goal.

Nash should help the team in terms of finishing when he returns but they will need another scorer in addition to him. I think the Rangers are now bottom 5 in scoring. They also need to win more faceoffs.

Kreider-Stepan-Zucc is a good possession line but they can't score. Brassard and Pouliot are practically passengers at this point and we need more from them. The defense, while better than they were at the beginning of the season, is still shaky and Hank has to bail them out as usual.

Tonight's game and the Devils game are ones which I would have liked to have gotten at least a loser point. Fortunately the division is pretty bad so hopefully these games don't come back to haunt them.

Poor lundqvist, what a frustrating game. It couldn't be more obvious that they were gassed after last night. No creativity out there.

Yep, just him and the goalie and he's looking pass the entire time. No idea what he was trying to accomplish.

This really wasn't a terrible loss. A VERY frustrating one, however. That late "goal" made the frustration 600x times worse. They also played back to back. Just gotta head to Boston and play better I suppose.

That only irritated you? I was pulling hair out. :D

You can say the singular goal was cheesy, or the PP failures led to this loss, but you'd only be half right.

This game should have been 4 or 5-0 had it not been for Lundqvist - he made some amazing stops in the 2nd and 3rd period. Don't let the final score fool you into believing this was a close game. Simply outclassed by a better team.

Oh wow. So I have gathered the following from this thread:

1) Trade MDZ
2) Bench Pouiliot
3) Bench Brassard
4) Send Miller down
5) Stralman lost the game
6) Trade for a scoring winger
7) Refs screwed us
8) Callahan was invisibile

Anything else?

Great game from both teams. Just came down to special teams. Dorsett and Zucc needed to get greedy and shoot on those odd man rushes. There were no lanes to pass through. They forced em when they didn't have to force a shot.

Effective game by the Kings but that game set hockey back 100 years. I can't believe anyone thought this was a good game, much less by the Rangers.

Can someone remind me of one good chance in this game. I seriously can't remember one good chance. I mean one that actually got to Scrivens.

27th in GF
13th in GA
GF-GA = -8

Have you never seen a game between two teams that are coming off of a rough schedule?

Kings are at the end of an other-coast road trip. Rangers played last night in Montreal and got home early this morning. Throw in the fact that both these team are fantastic defensively, and I don't understand why the "mellowness" of this game is such a surprise to so many people.

Look on the bright side, nobody can accuse the Rangers of piling up loser points. We gladly lose all our games in regulation.

And Zucc has such a great shot and ways to beat the goalie, he's our shootout specialist for a reason. Don't know what he was thinking about either.

Offense doesn't make hockey. I dunno why everything is offense, offense, offense. In my opinion, that's why a lot of people here wanted Torts fired.

Hockey is a game made of games. It was a defensive game and whoever won the special teams battle was going to win. The Kings did.

It wasn't a 5-4 game???? That's not hockey!!!

Widen the nets about two feet and shut everyone up

I absolutely agree with this. How many legitimate scoring chances did the Rangers generate? How many difficult saves did Scrivens have to make?

It was not a good showing. It's not the end of the world, it's one game. But it was far from a good effort.
