I have been watching quite a few Minnesota games lately.

Faber is a good all around solid player without a rocket of shot. Yet he is involved in many positive ways due to his incredible hockey sense. Despite a “weak” shot, it’s always on net which results in many rebounds. Kinda reminds me of that one season of Kyle Quincey. His skating is obviously very good. I have seen him make quite a few turnovers too because he plays too many minutes and pure offensively I see some limitation.

He is in no way as good as Drew Doughty at the same age and he never will. Some really go overboard with that suggestion which is laughable.

The one trade that is really bad and we should look at, is the Vilardi trade.

In Fiala we have a great player but so far PLD does not look to be very good. + Vilardi was IMO already better than him and we gave up a lot more than just Gabe. That trade was utter crap by Blake. Reminds me of the Lucic trade.

And I am not done yet.

Instead of Faber, lets talk for once about Kings draft pick Jacob Middleton.

Now that is one bad mother****** we had in the pipeline. Don’t expect highlight reel plays but he is tough and steady. From what I remember LA didnt sign him to an entry level deal. That happens because 9 out of 10 times its no big deal but not this time.

Now I am done for tonight.

What are your thoughts on Ponyboy Curtis?

The first "not a good guy" we traded for from Columbus won 2 Cups here. They probably talked badly about Gaborik too; I just remember the "rumors" about Carter better.

I'm not even saying this to defend PLD this season. I'm just saying that maybe Columbus is the side of the trend we should pay attention to rather than the results of Carter, Gaborik, PLD, and hell even Gavrikov after they left.
Carter had performed at a level Performance Lacking Dickhead hasn’t even come close to in his career.

Maybe Columbus is a bit of a shithole to play in and every star wants to leave there.

I'm a bit concerned about Lizotte.

It reminds me of the Trevor Moore situation last year. Gets concussed then isn't the same player for the rest of the season.

Lol I was going to say that this guy would be right up Johnny Utah's alley, and sure enough the first like on this post was Johnny himself.

Can't believe I've been on HF for 20 years. Just got a notification.
What a loser...
Definitely seen some UPS and Downs with this team.
GKG
Nah, don't feel bad. I've been on for 17 years with 2 different accounts (lost my login info on my first account, so had to make a new one).

Carter scored and produced immediately after the trade and was a beast in the playoffs.
Carter also immediately got to play wing with his NHL best buddy Mike Richards at center. PLD has Laferriere and Grundstrom on his wings after not clicking with Fiala (who Kopitar didn't click with either).

PLD has sucked, and a lot of it's on him. I'm just saying claiming a source told you he's "not a good guy" is a trope we've heard about so many players before they finally had success somewhere else. O'Reilly, Eichel, Carter, etc and the list goes on.

Yea, kinda figured that out.....doesn't mean it's accurate
It may be accurate but means nothing. Just because person A and person B don’t get one it doesn’t automatically mean one of them is a POS. Equally maybe the teammate is actually the bad ‘team mate’.

As for the shift, yes it was bad but he was around 21 yrs old, or whatever it was. Petulant maybe but I don’t draw conclusions from that.

Yes, he needs to up his game and that’s the scope of it.

Also, I’ve been around pro teams that under achieved in part because the got on too well. Nobody held anyone to account. They don’t need to be good friends and buddies, just got professionals… however it’s very clear from the various videos getting shared that it’s a very good room. S9 he cannot be ‘that’ bad.

PLD and Carter are actually very similar with regards to career production. PLD is a hair higher, even though you might not think it from watching his year here so far.

One or two can be a coincidence but there has been a ton of talent who didn't want to stick around. Just recently it's Dubois, Panarin, Bobrovsky, and Duchene. And wasn't it Josh Anderson who said he'd only sign a one-year contract there so he could become a UFA? Pretty much forced a trade.

And it goes back much farther than that, way back to Carter, or when Nash wanted out.

I don't think it's all the city itself, though. Nash has been with the Jackets for a few years now, he wouldn't have gone back if it was a terrible place to live. I think it's just that the organization doesn't seem to have any intention to become a top team and win. Whether it's finances or some other reason doesn't really matter, top players just don't want any part of that.

I don’t see the Carter comparison at. Carter was a good player by himself when he joined the Kings. Legit any blame on PLDs linemates for him being a lazy piece of shit is a piss poor attempt to shift blame from him. He put himself in that situation. There’s no reason why he can’t steal Danaults linemates with his talent. He’s just a lazy f***.

He probably thinks the same no-account BS in his heart of hearts. I need different wingers, I hate being on the third line, I'll turn it on in the playoffs

Up to this point (his 7th season), PLD has 314 points in 462 games. That's .68 points per game.

By the end of Carter's 7th season, he had 377 points in 516 games. That's .73 points per game. I don't know if you included Carter's entire career, but including his mid-late 30s to compare a dude in his 20s is pretty misleading.

Carter also averaged 1:42 shorthanded ice time per game during his first 6 years with Philadelphia. PLD averaged 9 seconds with Columbus, 2 seconds with Winnipeg, and 5 seconds with LA.

The Carter comparison is pretty laughable. He was more productive his first 7 seasons and had more demanded out of him.

Long way to go, with many more ups and downs, but if this leads to another first round exit with PLD playing like this, it's time to clean house

This is really the best way to put it. It's a wait and see for me. PLD could erase all the negative opinions of him if he tears it up in the playoffs. I'm not seeing it right now, but I'll let it play out. Imagine if Winnipeg wins the whole thing? LOL. Ouch. But based on Canada's track record, i'm not anticipating that.

Article about jerseys next year. Due to circumstances, Hoven provides details about the possibility of the Kings going full-time to 90s jerseys next year: REPORT: LA Kings Exploring Jersey Changes for Next Season

We had previously heard that due to supply chain limitations and production ramp up times related to starting up this new initiative, there was a strong possibility that NHL teams would be limited to just two jerseys next season, their home and road. If that’s still the case, it’s easy to understand the Kings conundrum. Some within management sat up and took notice of the wildly successful Reverse Retro program. It was the first time in decades Kings fans responded positively — with their wallets — when it came to purple (Forum Blue for the purists) themed team merchandise. And it happened twice over a three year period with the Reverse Retro program.

...

Getting back to the two-jersey limit for next season, keep in mind that the league likes it when home and road jerseys share the same crest. This also makes it easier on jersey manufacturers. If Fanatics is truly going to limit teams to just two jerseys next season, the Kings would need to decide — keep the current home/road combination (and thereby ditching the chrome kit for next season) or switch to the white alternate jersey as the new road sweater (and create a black version to wear at home).

From everything we’re hearing, it’s sounding more and more like the Kings are leaning toward the latter option — meaning they’ll be returning to the ’90s era crest as their primary logo next season.

Good read and he provides good detail, but wanted to provide a snippet or two with a high-level summary.
