Why are we so focused on line combinations? Rob Blake made this change expecting brand new meeting times first and foremost from the new coaching staff. Everything is brand new guys, just open your eyes.

Turcotte and Kaliyev have experience playing together and complimentary skills so they should make a good pair. It will be easy to have their line skate more minutes than PLD's line when they outshine line 3.

I think the problem is the role he’s being placed in.

I do think Kopitars ice time is going to be a determining aspect of how “new” Hiller is according to Blake. If it stays the same then we have no choice but to execute Kopitar since coaches seem to be drawn to him like a siren in an ocean.

It’s like when you go on a roller coaster and go up and then you go down that first drop and are like damn that was crazy. Then you look forward and realize the bottom hasn’t even fell out yet. I have a feeling the goaltending is about to give out like a peg leg on a pirate!

I think the problem is the role he’s being placed in.

He has no role. He is used as a spare part that is inserted into a broken spot and then fans hold it against him when the broken thing remains broken.

This is a player capable of decent production while playing a solid, safe game. He has had no opportunities to forge any kind of chemistry in any role at all. Just plug and play in spots where nobody is succeeding, then sat back down for weeks at a time when the players who are REALLY struggling keep getting the "maybe this will work" treatment. How could anyone get their rig rolling in that situation?

I am not harboring any illusions here. JAD isn't going to set anyone's world on fire, but he plays an honest, respectful, responsible brand of hockey on a team that keeps seeping back into chaos everytime they build up a little momentum here. Then we see the role players getting more than their fair share of the blame when they aren't the problem at all.

I agree. He needs consistent time to settle in, but he's shown some good things at the NHL level.

He should be the the 4C right now IMO. Turcotte 3C.

as has been said many times here, JAD=JAG just another guy

if you're carrying lewis, JAD is a pointless clone and carrying both is a waste of a roster slot. putting both on the same line is comedy

that pass to PLD for his goal was super sick but he's literally done nothing else but hemorrhage points/CA, however you want to look at it

Its weird JAD is the main topic. He's a 13th fwd. No one is saying he doesnt have value.. but even on this team there are better options NOW that make him a daily scratch esp once RV is back. No way he should play ahead of Turcotte, Kaliyev, Fagemo or Laf.

JAD is the not the 13th forward - he's playing 3rd RW alongside a 8.5 million center, that is the problem.

He should be on the 4th line, healthy scratch, or in Ontario.
