That would be stupid, maybe one of the state run media could ask Blake a question like this if that were to happen.

“Turcotte is 23 years old and has 4 seasons and over 100 games in the AHL, when will he be given a chance to be an NHL’er?”

Does that question get the card-counter treatment in 60’s Vegas? Does Sean O’Donnell take you behind the building and start snapping fingers?

And it’s win-win for Lizotte, let him go play on some contenders 4th line and try and get a ring. He’s not a bad player by any stretch but the Kings need to get younger and cheaper, and this is an obvious opportunity to. Plus Turcotte has a higher ceiling than Lizotte, he could end up a 3C where Lizotte has no chance.
I’m saying this year not next. I have been down on Turcotte and honestly thought he’d never make it. Lizotte bring out has given him a chance. Fagemo was given one before him. If Turc is consistent and a difference maker, he may be able to stick next year if the team lets some others go. He is also going to compete with Helenius and Thomas at this point. He really needs to make it so management can’t deny him.

Byfield Kopi Kempe
Moore Danault RV
Fiala Dubois Lafferiere
Grundstrom Lizotte Lewis
JAD
Kaliyev
Fagemo
Turcotte

I don’t think they have the balls to sit Lewis.

Maybe Grundstrom

On pace for 16 pts - How does Lewis keep employed in the NHL.. answer: friends. He must be a hell of a guy.
Two letters for you. PK. He's been on the ice for only 3 goals against and 3 goals for during penalty kills this season. That's in 82 minutes. Just think about that.

He's the reason why the Kings have the top penalty killing rate in the NHL.

Here are your leaders in cost-per-point among forwards with 40 or more games played:
  1. Barclay Goodrow, $728,333
  2. Nicolas Deslauriers, $583,333
  3. Evgeny Kuznetsov, $458,823
  4. Jeff Carter, $446,428
  5. Ryan Johansen, $444,444
  6. Pierre-Luc Dubois, $425,000
  7. Josh Anderson, $423,076
  8. Brendan Gallagher, $406,250
  9. Jonathan Huberdeau, $403,846
  10. Jakob Silfverberg, $403,846
The next-highest forward on the Kings is actually Anze Kopitar at $243,902, but that's pretty much in line with players like Kyle Connor and Jack Eichel, and a high cost-per-point isn't necessarily a bad thing (as in this case for high-paid but elite guys). To round out the top five for LA, we have Danault at $183,333, Fiala at $183,139, and Kempe at $127,906.

Byfield is 4th-best in the entire league at $25,547 per point, behind Lucas Raymond, Seth Jarvis, and JJ Peterka.

QB is performance bonus-laden though so maybe not as good of "actual" value as that indicates but still great. at worst that's roughly 100k/point right? which is totally fine for what he brings

really accentuates the value of jarvis and peterka though, they don't have nearly the performance bonuses

This break could be huge for the Kings especially if Arvidsson and Lizotte are close. Fully healthy the Kings could ice a lineup that looks something like:

Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Danault - Moore
Turcotte - Dubois - Arvidsson
Grundstrom - Lizotte - Laferriere

Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Spence
Clarke - Roy

Granted, there's not a lot of toughness in that lineup but good lord that's a deep squad. Plus the powerplay will be significantly improved with Arvidsson returning. Turcotte could be the high-motor/energy winger needed to get Dubois going and Arvidsson gives the two of them a great playmaking/scoring winger to compliment them. Having 4 really strong forward lines again would almost surely mean Kopitar's minutes would come back down as well (and hopefully the all star break gives him much needed rest anyways).

Main problem: We currently still have a coach that won't ice a lineup like that. McLellan still needs to go - The Kings were lucky to win that one last night, in no way should that game save his job. But it probably will smh

Fiala - Danault - Moore
Laffy - Dubois - Arvidsson
Grundstrom - Turcotte - Lewis

Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Roy
Englund-Spence

I would like to see the above roster - PLD and Laffy are a pair, so put Arvidsson with them. That is two RH shots playing on either side of PLD so that might be weird...

I would move Lizotte - he's making almost 2 million, will be a RFA, and now Turcotte has showed he can play the 4C.

Don't be shocked if the Kings add some grit at the deadline - which would give them flexibility on the defense to play Clarke and Spence (though, don't see it happening). According the Mayor, the Kings don't want a young player playing on their off-side especially since the whole Durzi fiasco last year.

Pieces that can be moved - Grundstrom, Lizotte and Kayilev.

Get Turcotte as far away from Dubois as possible. Swap Fiala and Turcotte and I'm game.

I guarantee you if the Kings lost yesterday then this miserable piece of shit organization would have been torched. Yet they live to fail again until the offseason.

kaliyev belongs on that danault wing tbh

bump fiala and turc down, carry grundy as your 13th
Or say f*** it and put Turcotte/Byfield/Kaliyev together.

Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe
Turcotte - Byfield - Kaliyev
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Lizotte - Dubois - Laferriere
Grundstrom, Lewis

Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Clarke
Roy - Spence
Englund
