interesting given you deploy him as if he is 100% every night
I'm almost more interested to see what he says about PLD. If someone asks Blake about him, that is, which might not happen.
I expect Blake to give a full throated endorsement of TM today. Not that he can say anything else, really, if he’s not firing him but he will stand behind him.
Hoven: Can you and the Toddfather go further into detail about how acquiring PLD gave the team such great depth and got the team off to such a hot start?I'm almost more interested to see what he says about PLD. If someone asks Blake about him, that is, which might not happen.
This literally had me laughing out loud, Brillant.Hi Rob,
Our 38 year old starter is starting to strain under such a heavy workload, our backup is out for the year and our replacement can only play the Sharks, any plan for beefing up the crease going into the trade deadline or are you holding Kaliyev out of games to take reps as a goalie in practice?
Umm, Kaliyev is playing. He just played two nights ago. Played 5 out of 8 games in January. He is mired in a 7 game pointless streak, though.Should Flyers Trade for Kings Forward Arthur Kaliyev?
Funny article on WTF is LA doing out of Philly.
“You know who I’m wondering about here is Kaliyev,” Friedman started. “That’s a guy I’m kind of wondering about right now. Well, he’s not playing. It looked like this year they found a really nice niche spot for him, but he hasn’t been playing lately. I wonder what his future there is,” he concluded before immediately changing the topic to a different player.
They say when there’s smoke, there’s fire, and if you’re the Flyers, you would be wise to pony up your firetrucks and ladders to get ready to rescue Kaliyev from the Kings. It goes without saying that the price for any trade will be a major sticking point, but Kaliyev is just 22 years old and has been a double-digit goal-scorer twice in the NHL despite limited playing time.
The Uzbekistan-born winger stands at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, so size will be of no concern to the Flyers. Kaliyev has produced at about a 40-point rate throughout his career, though his production has slightly declined this year in spite of an uptick in his average ice time. It’s also worth noting that Los Angeles has not exactly been a beacon of hope for young players as of late."
Clarke and Fagemo were extras on the ice lol. I hate this team.
"Can you comment on how well Dubois has played this season? He's really exceeding expectations thus far and your trade was just brilliant. You're also looking very handsome today, Rob."

I will say that Kaliyev is not being deployed in the right place. His best results are with Danault and Moore. Danault and Moore's best results are with Kaliyev. The WOWY numbers are absurdly good. McLellan should park Kaliyev on that line and leave him there; move Fiala back to Dubois's wing and maybe add Fagemo for a combustible mixture.
Been 7 years. He has failed spectacularly.
Maybe there saving the best for last?kind of amusing that like 30+ minutes deep into a press conference there's been like 3 tweets about anything relevant and they're all kinda nothingburgers
seems about right
I mean, who do you sit to get Clarke on the ice? Spence is arguabley the best RD on the team. Roy and Doughty are having good seasons. Clarke has played 40 minutes of even strength time and had no goals for, two goals against. His three games haven't exactly lit anyone's pants on fire.Clarke and Fagemo were extras on the ice lol. Certainly last season was a failure by that measure."So by that evaluation you have failed repeatedly" Would have been the hockey market followup
This is why Clarke should have been playing more last year and earlier this season, so he could be caught up on the pace of the game. Because he's spent half the season in the AHL, he's now half a step behind.I mean, who do you sit to get Clarke on the ice? Spence is arguabley the best RD on the team. In Football (soccer) a vote of confidence is usually followed by a firing. If you need to publicly back the coach then the end is (should be) nearI expect Blake to give a full throated endorsement of TM today. You’d expect him to light anything on fire playing bottom pair minutes in just 3 games? This is exactly the stuff I predicted at the start of the season. The team needs a spark and the guy with the most x-factor started in the AHL and is being used sparingly since being called up. All the are doing is affecting his confidence. He needs to be running PP1 and playing top 4 minutes and get him up to speed. They need to cut DD’s minutes anyway.I mean, who do you sit to get Clarke on the ice? If you wanna make a case that Englund should sit so Clarke can play, I can get behind that.
