I don't even know where to begin with some of the absurdity. But I'll repeat since some seem to forget:
- Faber was part of USA's Olympic team. Not just juniors. Olympics. And he moved his way up the lineup.
- Faber moved himself up the lineup when playing on Minnesota in NCAA. Even as a freshman he became a key, top defenseman within months of playing college hockey.
- in the NHL, he became a No. 1 rookie defenseman, carrying his pairing. He's killing penalties and shutting down the top opposition.
All of this, and he's 3 days younger than Quinton Byfield.
Faber has done nothing but move up every lineup he's played on. On multiple teams with a variety of talent gaps. Nobody's saying he's Bobby Orr, but he's had a special and significant rise.
Spence is a good player. I was banging the drum back when he was playing on Moncton in the QMJHL after the Kings drafted him.
Saying there's no comparison isn't underrating. Assuming the two are comparable just because of points, and ignoring all other context, is simply ignorant.
