6th in the division and 10th in the conference against top teams. This is why I'm pessimistic about making the playoffs with the current team and coach.

I’m sure they want to get Clarke in a couple practices before throwing him out there. We have a lot of games coming up this month and he will get his time.

It’s almost a compliment to the Kings with how much Vegas loves to have our players.

Faber's used as the No 1, shutdown role like Doughty would be.

Spence is getting bottom-pairing minutes and deployment. Not to mention that Minnesota's in the lower half of goals scored per game. They aren't comparable.

So if Spence were given the same minutes his numbers may be higher?

They are obviously different players. Faber wouldn’t be getting those minutes in LA.

This is why I’m pessimistic. The goal isn’t to make the playoffs but to make a run. They haven’t shown that they can do that or that any of the changes will contribute to that goal. Additions of Clarke and Arviddson may change that but right now they’re beating up on bad teams, propping up the goal differential and making things look better than they are on that side of the puck.

The reality is they’ve been consistently outmatched against potential playoff teams. The offensive gains are null when you put it into perspective and consider a weaker powerplay. It’s disheartening because the goaltending is much improved and they added an $8.5M player.

This! He’s also on a roll right now and probably feeling good about his play earning him a call up. Confidence is everything for a young player, as we’ve seen with QB. Throw him in right away against an ok Detroit team. The Reign play the same system so he doesn’t necessarily need practice.

I'm saying Spence is getting a more favorable deployment where comparing him to Faber is silly. It's like comparing Spence to Doughty, as far as roles.

Saw Vegas claimed Bjornfot - unsurprising. I don't think it was realistic that he would go unclaimed. He may be waived again, like Fagemo, but whatever. I've already voiced my issues and I am less confident I'll be satisfied with the season.

They fumbled Bjornfot's development as badly as they handled Aki Berg when they rushed him to the pros. Good thing they played Edler over him the previous two seasons, it worked wonders for Bjornfot's progression.

Bjornfot - He made it through 30ish teams before Vegas claimed him. They have a slew of injured Dman, including Theodore, Miromanov and Korczak, so we should be getting Toby back in 2 to 3 weeks a la Fagemo. At least that is my hopes. They have 6 defenseman on the NHL roster better then him so he might be the 7th guy, I guess we will see. On the left side they have Martinez, McNabb, Hague and Hutton. Pietrangelo and Whitecloud on the right. Is Martinez playing the off side for them?

Clarke - If our AHL and NHL systems are so much a like then I am playing my hot hand in Detroit.

i kept asking myself when durzi was being shoehorned into playing his off hand, why not use bjornfot? he's left handed and was good enough on the top pair for an entire season. its because its a popularity contest. obviously they dont know what they want.
i want the kings to succeed. but they sure are going about working to achive success in a strange manner.

I have an answer for that.. Durzi was a very good PP QB. Id wouldve been happy w keeping Durzi if we didnt have Clarke and Spence in the pipe.. Clarke PP ability will eventually surpass Durzi. It made him obsolete esp with his contract, Kings had to trim salary to get their beloved PLD.

I think he is in no-mans land with this roster. Only line with an identity is the 4th line. And its just an energy line not really a checking line. I do think 14 games in 28 days could break the camels back here and might see a change
