Still no ghost on the pp

It’s not like the coaches are instructing them to miss the net or the goalies to let in the first 3 shots they see
The coaches are not instilling the behaviors for them to have success this year. They don't have the quality reps to execute a good PP. They don't know how to execute a good scheme.

Grinding only gets you so far. It doesn't manufacture great chances in the half zone or on the PP. and that has been our single biggest weakness for years. Our only scheme is to grind. But we are too talented to rely solely on that anymore

There should be tough questions asked tonight.

There won't be, but someone needs to call Rod out on his stubbornness. Man was quoted as saying his team sucked last game and yet he just continues to do things like give Burns top minutes.

Also, Freddie just isn't very good anymore. At least he's off the books but we desperately need Kotch to either develop now or find someone else. I personally don't really want Gibson but he may have to do.

Outscored 12-3 over the last 6 periods

And the effort has been worse than the score to the point where it really does make you wonder if the team isn't listening to the coaching anymore.

I value consistency and chemistry on defense but it's strange to be so dug in on the pairs. Especially in the regular season with what's still been a good team on the balance you should try different things. It's not like it's a secret Burns is having a rough go this season and sheltering him a bit could help. It might elevate Slavin a good bit too.

Would this team even miss Orlov if they dealt him at the deadline? Wait till Nikishin comes or grab a depth guy. Some team would pay a first plus for a retained Orlov

What, elevate Slavin? But why do that when we can just have him be the mask for whatever pet project that Brindy has this year to make it look like we didn't royally f*** up by letting Hamilton walk

System isn’t designed for skill guys to have success if Rantanen stays here he’ll be at 70-80 point guy. Rod would be more happy coaching 12 martinooks who just dump and chase the whole game

Crazy thought here, I had a dream a couple of nights ago that Tulsky traded Martinook.

I can only imagine the rage Rod would have if Martinook got traded but it would send one hell of a message to him.

Is Nikishin even still going to be available this year?

I thought I saw the KHL season ended up getting extended this year and the earliest he would even be able to join us now is right around when round 1 of the playoffs would be about to begin.
