Says yes, then says perhaps. Sounds like someone looking in without actually fully knowing. Or just throwing shit at the wall to see if it sticks.

Also want to know how if Kyrou hasn't fully proven himself then how the hell did Tarasenko fully prove himself with similar production and defensive shortcomings at the same time of his career.

I don’t think Tarasenko ever looked as disinterested as Kyrou does personally.

If veteran players play this far below their ability levels because a younger player signed a big contract, then they were more fragile than we thought in the first place. Boo hoo Kyrou got a big contract. Boo hoo Perron is gone. If those are excuses for you to play like you don't care, then you should be gone too.

Lots of teams lose well liked vets due to the cap and lots of teams give big contracts to young players. None of those teams play this badly this long. If you're going to mope about it and let your play slide this far then you don't deserve a letter and shouldn't be in any team's long term core anyway.
So much this! This explains exactly why this 100% emotional, 0% logical point of view is completely untethered from reality.

JR edited the article to change "it's believed" to "according to multiple team sources." That is a strange post-release edit. Either way, this feels very similar to his non-committal "trust me, there are locker room issues but I won't go into specifics" stuff during the 2018/19 season pre-Binner.

I expect players to talk to teammates about holes in their game. That's what leadership looks like. A veteran telling a teammate 'we need more out of you and flaw X is unacceptable' is a hell of a long way from proving that there is resentment about a contract. Kyrou has been far from perfect this year. That puts him in a 23 man club in this locker room right now. I'd hope (and expect) that every player in that room has been the subject of similarly critical conversations at this point.

He changed it because he's trying to pre-empt "oh yeah, believed by whom?" and knows that report will get wide Blues/hockey fan discussion and doesn't want ambiguity in his wording around sourcing to create further shooting the messenger opportunities than he has enabled in the past.

Cause it was and thats why that thread with his signing needs to be archived and any poster who loved/supported that deal and compared him to Patrick Kane should be banned from the website ASAP for TROLLING!!

91 was not even close to this bad defensively. Also with 91 you saw leadership potential in him. With Kyrou you see a little kid who just wants to make money and play Fortnite from April to September.

If Kyrou was playing better - passing to others and moving the puck into scoring opportunities, I can see the argument that there’s animosity towards him. Problem is, he’s being a dumb puck hog and, like others, isn’t being a team player. I don’t think he’s the root problem but he’s heavily contributing to it with his play.

I also recall constant twitter/facebook, media, and other places crying for him to be traded because he was soft, a playoff ghost, and a choker.
Oshie's problem was he was hammered all the time.
couldn't stay upright for more than 5 secs it seemed

getting married, having a baby and a change a scenery did wonders for him

Panger just yelled "HANDLE THE PUCK" after Kyrou coughed up the puck at the Bruins blue line

Maybe there's hope that he will grow as a journalist. But I wouldn't buy that stock.

I think Kyrou is feeling all the pressure of his contract and is having a hard time with it.
I think Both Thomas and Kyrou are having a bit of a "Oh Shit" moment right now when realizing that starting next year they are the faces of the Franchise. Then combine that with some of the Vets not pulling their weight right now as well. It's making everything out of wack.

I agree. There's a lot going wrong right now that's it really hard to track not only what it is, but where is it coming from.

In my viewing it's looking like to me.

Thomas is struggling with the weight of being the 1C since its the first time he's being pushed to be the 1C at a steady rate. Which would be fine since we have RoR. But, RoR is also struggling so we now have our top two Centers struggling at the same time.

Kyrou is struggling due to the weight of contract combined with his scoring drought so he's clutching much more than he would have last year, then because of this, all of his defensive downfalls are getting put much more under a microscope because "hey, if you can't score you gotta do something else" so now hes got a massive monkey on his back combined with "duuuude this dude sucks defensively as well."

Then you combine those with all of the defensive breakdowns from the rest of the time and the offensive drought as well. It's just a complete cluster

Then they need to take some f***ing Valium before games and f*** off with their pressure bullshit.

It’s amazing how much easier it is to perform in this league as a third liner than as a first liner. It’s almost as if the match-ups matter. Which is why it was so bizarre to let a proven top-line player making under five-mil walk. That trickle down benefited the whole roster. Thommer & Kyrou have a (lost?) year to figure out how to produce against the other teams top lines/players. If they can’t, and nobody on the roster steps up to assist, this may only be the beginning of a lengthy down-period.

A year ago everyone was extolling how great Kyrou was. Now everyone wants to dump him for peanuts. Playing with ROR and on new contract messed with his head a bit. He will be fine once he scores a couple and regains some confidence.
