I believe Stauffer was the guy that said EDM was sniffing around on Frederic this past week. I've come to learn that he seems like a reputable guy for EDM.
He is an Oilers employee but isn't allowed to leak too much or anything without teams consent.

Oilers are certainly adding a LHD who can play the right side by Friday.

Bob has confirmed that for a while now

He’s a media guy and has been for decades. He travels with the team and speaks with management daily. If he says something it’s it’s because the team is trying to make it happen.

Yea, no shit the Oilers are interested in Binnington, they should be interested in any competent starting goalie.

The Blues would be stupid to move Binnington. I love Hofer, and think he's gunna be a starter in this league for a long time. But when you've got one of the hottest teams in the league, you aren't trading you cup & gold medal winning starter to hand the keys over to a relatively unproven kid. If I'm the Blues I'm looking at this group that's absolutely buzzing right now, with a goalie who has has swagger back coming off a 4N win, and a potential first round matchup with the Jets? I'm all over that, I'd be looking to add a piece or two. Thats about as winnable of a 1st rd matchup as you could ask for as an 8 seed.

Meanwhile the Oilers should be pushing what little chips they have left in on Gibson. Realistically they won't do that, and probably settle for someone like Brossoit from Chicago.

This group has been very hot and cold for the past couple of years. Yes they have been playing well the last week or so. But it was a pretty rough stretch prior to that.

I don’t think the Blues will end up moving him. But Armstrong has sold when playoffs were an option before. It’s not out of the question that he would sell off Binnington or Schenn, I’d just imagine the return he’d ask would make most teams reconsider.

We don’t really have the movable assets to add. We trade 2nds as soon as we get them and the offer sheets and recouping our picks ate uo a lot of 2nds and 3rds which seem to be the main pieces that move at the deadline.

We could stand to add a more offensive 3C and we could really stand to add a young RD with upside, just seems like they’ll probably explore those in the summer via trade unless fixes come about without mortgaging the future. Army has seemed to make it a point to set Steen up fairly well. Trading Binnington/Schenn/Leddy/Faulk and our bottom of the lineup players probably isn’t out of the question even with the 4 game winning streak. Really depends on which version shows up on who we could beat in the playoffs. A lot of nights there’s probably no limitations. Others it seems like we couldn’t beat a bottom feeder.

Going to the original source, there's nothing saying Oilers are interested. It's Kypreos saying Binnington is on a list of goalies Oilers need to think about.

With Florida and Carolina still ahead of Edmonton on their current road trip, what would another bad loss or two do for president Jeff Jackson and GM Stan Bowman and how confident they are in their goaltending? Jordan Binnington appears on this list and the Oilers will have to think about him.

I could see selling off depth pieces if Army really doesn't believe in this team, but trading away your stud goalie or captain would be an absolute gut punch to the remaining players. That's the kind of thing that can sour a group.

Getting hot right now, with Parayko and Binnington coming off the 4N win, the team gelling under the new coach, and Holloway taking a big step, I think they've gotta reward the group with a small add.

The spot is theirs for the taking, with Vancouver throwing in the towel the second they traded Miller. Ya'll are better than Calgary and Utah.

Something tells me if he waives to Edmonton he's going to turn into Jack Campbell. But I'd love to see what Binnington can do for the Oilers.

I don’t think the Blues are quite comfortable in Hofer just yet. I think he’ll be good but I think a Binnington trade is a year away. Blues will keep him for now.

Is it confirmed Kane is out all year? Unless I'm reading it wrong the oilers only cap space is tied to Kane being on LTIR and no significant accrued cap which seems to be another blunder on Stan. I guess once Kane is activated they can clear 1 or two million by sending guys down but with little assets and a bunch of NMC, I don't see a lot of options.

Management doesn't seem great at asset managing or long term thinking based on how things have gone since the summer.

Threw in the towel? They took a shit situation and manged to upgrade a lot on defense while Chytil leads the forwards in points since coming here and until these last five games had our best stretch of the season.

Allvin will add a top six forward that's pretty much guaranteed and unless Demko misses another 10+ games they will make the playoffs. Even if he does we still likely make it.

It might be a lot of boring low scoring hockey If the offense continues to struggle but I have full confidence in Demko/Lankinen and the Dcorp to drag us in

They've asked Kane for teams he is willing to go to and are likely going to ship him out by Friday
