I’ve read speculation that Rogers was the party that blocked a Dubas extension last year while Tannenbaum and Bell wanted him back. So while also providing us with absolutely garbage coverage, they f*** up and negotiations and our GM walks.

They have a big habit of getting involved in front office decisions, often for the worst. Rogers wanted to boot Masai at one point for gods sake lol

Realistically, if the Leafs want Tulsky they should get him

We can offer the most money + provide the best situation out of the all available NHL positions. Only concern is maybe he would like to stay in America?

Are we even allowed to court him if the playoffs are still going and the Canes are in it still? That's my only concern... Not much time to waste

At this point, you may as well strip it right down to the studs and start all over again. Really don't agree with this decision to move on from Kyle.

I cannot say I have ever felt this way towards a departing GM, but Kyle deserved better from this core group. They failed him, not the other way around.

I will genuinely cheer for Kyle wherever he goes. His impact on our franchise will be felt in a positive way for years to come.

Regardless of whether you were on Dubas side or not, it doesn't matter. As this is the worst possible time to lose your GM, when the boys loved him, and major contracts are up for renewal. This is extremely unfortunate timing.

As for the next GM, Tulsky is the only choice.....Or Gretzky, he did pretty good with those team Canadas lol.

Yes, let's trust Treliving with signings and trading a young star player, he's done well there.

I was told there was no one better available than Dubas from all of his fear-mongering little foot soldiers on the internet.

In reality if that’s the short list that’s already a great list of candidates, and it’ll be great for the Leafs board to get pitches from all three.

Hopefully it is Pridham, if only because we need to hit the ground running. The draft is key for us, trade wise, no time to figure it out.

I don't really know if that would be good or bad or in-between but that would mean being able to hit the ground running.

Big deal. This team needs a shakeup from the top down. The core 4 were very comfortable here with Dubas, too comfortable. Maybe bring in someone new with a fresh perspective. This is great.

Dubas was a fan of Matthews and Marner.
That’s why those 2 were okay doing whatever they wanted. Same excuses and deflections year after year.

Glad after Marner is gone. A new GM and a New coach and light a fire and have these guys start on time.

Actually...There was more to that.

Players and Treliving wanted Sutter gone, he's a coach that wears out his welcome very quickly. The owners said no, and said mutually parted ways. So it was a hot mess a lot of people were annoyed at that. When the player exit interview happens after they announced a replacement, they fired Sutter...it was a hot mess because of the ownership meddling actually. Should check out the flames board and insiders on that

Let a very bitter taste for a lot people.

What worries me the most is a new GM coming in and doing nothing because they want to get a handle on things. Serious decisions have to be made by June 30th. Not having an extension for Matthews or Nylander is unacceptable. Either traded or signed on July 1.

Well, the President is still in place and so are all the lieutenants. There’s a break in the chain of command but the team isn’t without continuity.
