May want to check how Marchment is doing.
it's better to do your own research than just listen to the loud people on this board.
CJ on TSN:
* Became apparent this morning that this is where it would end up.
* Comments he made on locker exit day, caught organization really off-guard. Definitely felt extension talks were being had, but when Kyle opened the door to him not being "All-in", it cast doubt.
*Not sure how the team will spin it - organization decision vs Kyle's personal decision. Had some sources tell him it was a team decision, but he's not so sure.
* Dubas was a huge part of this team, including off the ice. Says he's stunned that the organization moved off him. Doesn't think Dubas was out of answers, and would have bet on him continuing to grow and evolve on the job.
* Has no sense of who the new GM would be. Makes the prediction of who coaches this team next season impossible.
* Wonders what this means for Matthews' extension. Speculates that he won't be signing before July 1st anymore, until he knows who the new GM is and what the plan is moving forward.
He didn't on the Rielly or Kadri contracts. Zaitsev was the only mistake which could have easily been fixed.I highly doubt Lou would have been bent over at the negotiating table, too.
MLSE went full progressive. Which results in diversity hires. Can't have the ole boys running things even though you signed Babs for 7 years. LOLAt first I thought it was cowardly to jump ship after setting the team up for pending disaster but on more thought, I respect it. He recognizes he isn't as smart as he thought he was and is moving over to let someone else clean up his mess.
Can't believe the Leafs wasted all that potential since winning the lottery. Why would you hand the reigns over to a total rookie, blows my mind.
Post of the year. LOL.Someone do a wellness check on that Zeke guy, I envision him in the fetal position under a life size Dubas statue.
In my opinion, Matthews was not going to sign for less than a $10M AAV after Eichel had gotten that. However, they might have gotten a year or two longer at, say, $10.5M or so with Marner coming in at $10M.I highly doubt Lou would have been bent over at the negotiating table, too.
And Dubas forced them into that. So its 100% on him.Dubas was handed the GM position one year too soon. Being an unexperienced GM and having to re-sign Nylander, Matthews and Marner shortly after set him up for failure. Could never recover really from tying up way too much money into the core four. The sad part is, he put everything on the line and constantly stood and backed up this core four only to be let down year after year.
You have far more faith than I do. But we'll see what happens. Regardless it's not a better situation than what he walked into with Toronto. Even if sid and geno tip that scale, their best days are behind them not in front like our core was.
I would have been on the fence with three suspensions but at least he had skill and heart and went on to win a cup.Serious question, if Kadri got suspended another time after keeping him would you have been happy to still keep him? Because he got suspended again in the playoffs after we traded him.
It's like people forget he was actively one of the players that hurt us the most in consecutive playoffs by getting himself suspended for stupid bonehead reasons.Serious question, if Kadri got suspended another time after keeping him would you have been happy to still keep him? Because he got suspended again in the playoffs after we traded him.

Went farther with Isles team that lost their franchise C than the guy who inherited 16, 34, 88, 43, 44, 31. Dubas will have to buy a ticket to see Lou in the HHOF.
I love this team. Been following them for 30+ years.Big deal. This team needs a shakeup from the top down. The core 4 were very comfortable here with Dubas, too comfortable. Maybe bring in someone new with a fresh perspective. This is great.

He certainly wouldn’t have stood around whil Reilly get wrecked and Marner gets punche in the face and nobody did anything
New GM will decideHmm why didn’t they mention Keefe wasn’t coming back? Seems strange.
Shanahan is probably able to stay on because it doesn't appear that Dubas was fired/forced out by the organization. Keefe's future is likely to be undecided until the new GM is in place (him being here now isn't necessarily a guarantee that he will remain here). How the f*** does Shanny get the privledge of staying but not Dubas? makes no sense. Why let Dubas walk, but keep his HC in Keefe? like what is going on in this organization right now??
We have massive massive decisions that need to get done. Some of which need to get done ASAP if they are going to get done (ie. trading marner, matthews, both).
These guys better have a plan, because right now this is looking like we are headed into a train wreck IMO.
And Dubas forced them into that. So its 100% on him.
Yup. JT deal ultimately killed them. Crazy. The JT signing also forced us to walk away from Hyman. We lost Kadri and Hyman because of Tavares.
We lost Kadri because of Kadri. You are right about Hyman, though. The JT signing also forced us to walk away from Hyman. We lost Kadri and Hyman because of Tavares.
