I like dubas but I don’t think his vision of a nhl team is working, negotiation tactics also weak but any sense that if this year is a failure then he’s is out?
If so does shanahan not follow also?
And what is a failure for this team because looking at this division making the playoffs doesn’t seem to be too difficult this year

I don't think making the playoffs should be anywhere near good enough to say Dubas' job. Especially considering the Leafs are probably playing in the weakest division.

I do think Shanahan should follow, since it was his plan to ease Wonder Boy into the job. Dubas is where he is because of Shanahan, and for whatever reason Shanahan legitimately thinks that have a soft scoring team is going to win Cups. Which is weird when you think about it, because Detroit was anything but, during his time there.

This KD hate is laughable to me. Had Lou stayed, or hunter got hired in place of KD it would be the same story, just different details. KD has done a good job. I'm not sure how anyone who has watched this club for the last 20 years could say he has performed worse than anyone prior. In my mind, he has adapted to everything very well. When something is not working, he is not afraid to make a change (within reason). We have been a very competitive team throughout his tenure, and despite not having high picks, we have prospect depth arguably better than any time in the last 20 years. I am very confused. Does anyone who complains about KD look around the league at other GM's? Would you rather a Jim Benning? Stan Bowman? Bill Zito? Or possibly would you rather choose from the brilliant minds who currently unemployed? maybe a Peter Chiarelli? Burkey 2.0? Because remember, if its not KD, then we have to replace him with a hockey mind who is available. Lets not forget the simple fact, 30 NHL GM's fail to do their job every year...only 1 Succeeds. KD is not the only reason this team is losing. He takes the blame that is fairly his doing, as he should. But he also adjusts accordingly. Make no mistake, if this core does not work in the next couple years, he will adjust. You just do not blow up a 24 year old core. period. And believe it or not, no GM that you think would be the answer would do that either.

Dubas will be judged by his drafting just as Lou/Hunter are being judged now. But there's probably no point discussing anything with someone who obviously dislikes Dubas and has that avatar

He will be judged by the teams results the same as any GM.

Dubas was also the AGM at that time.
I agree that beside hitting on 1st rounds, Leafs draft since 2014-2017 is not good. But to blame Dubas for that is a bit much, since Hunter was responsible for the Draft and Lou was GM.

I would say it is a good reference to show how his predecessors failed in the same setting he is currently in. We accomplished jack shit with those guys at the helm, no noteworthy prospects, hardly any playoff appearances. Yes lets give Lou praise for drafting the consensus #1 OA in Auston Matthews and then having mitch fall to him at #4. What other hits did he have? we had 20 Draft picks in the 2 seasons with Lou as GM....20. 3 NHL regulars, 1 being travis dermott...so lets call it 2.5. and when you remove the 2015 4th OA and 2016 1st OA pick from that bunch, which are slam dunk picks. its very pathetic

It's just a handful of posters who dislike Dubas. When they win a few, they disappear

He has better mobility than Martin, which i think allows him to disrupt the shooter faster
