Kyle Davidson has to be Fired at this Point

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
It's at least possible that ownership has its thumb on the scales. Patience for a slow and steady rebuild through the draft may not be very high in Chicago. Few GMs get complete autonomy.
Team has been bad for 5 seasons now starting in 21 after they dealt for Jones. They’ve had 11 first rounders in the past 4 drafts.
Now is where GMs get evaluated. Not just by asset accumulation but moving those assets to assemble a good team. When you are targeting a specific piece like top 4 LHD that is mid 20’s. That is way more difficult than just taking back future draft capital.

Who? They got caved in defensively this past year, their forward core doesn't backcheck and are Manlets for the most part

Byram is ok offensively and we will finally see if he can carry a PP1, but he's not exactly reliable defensively.

Who is the other top Pairing D? Let's keep in mind their guys, for the most part, have been stunted developmentally by being thrown in the fire.
Levshunov is growing into a top pairing D. He might be close to being one as soon as next year. Byram can hold its own as a #2. Vlasic is already a decent top 4 and Rinzel also has the potential to be a good top 4.

Just because they got caved in while being in their teens/early 20's doesn't mean they will in a couple of years.

Levshunov was thrown to the wolves like Korchinski and hopefully his confidence isn't shattered like Korchinski's is, but he played better early season with 16-18 minutes a night before they started throwing him out 20-23 minutes a night. He was +/- 0 first 20 games and then they overloaded the poor rookie. He finished -41 and got WORSE as the season progressed. Sam Dickinson who was sheltered and given no PP1 time actually outscored Levshunov at ES with 14 points to levs 13 and Dickinson looked way more comfortable defensively by mid year

The Byram trade will have no middle ground; it will either be a brilliant and shrewd move if he takes off, or it will be an all time boner of a move. One day post trade it feels extremely ugly

Might as well tell me who drives a faster car, point is Dach isn't half the player Nazar is, but ofc Montreal fans think Dach is the greatest the second he has a decent handful of games.
Pretty much no Habs fan likes Dach. We all want him shot into the sun, stop with your dumb generalizations.
