Kucherov Appears to Intentionally Trip Rasmussen As He Scores

I think Kucherov should be suspended, because Rasmussen got injured. I would not call it intent to injure, because trips, even as blatant as this one was, rarely result in an injury. But he has to be responsible for the outcome of his actions, and DOPS weighs the outcome heavily.

Have bigger issues with the trips when people are skating towards the boards, like Burns slash/trip on Holloway empty net attempt recently. Much more likely to result in injury, still amazed how Holloway escaped unscathed there.

No, it wasn't. Casual trip that will never lead to suspension. Give me an example of a player being suspended for a trip.

Sure:

Wild's Hartman suspended two games for tripping

I know supplemental discipline is not common for Tampa players, maybe look around the league once in awhile.

lmao of course the trip is much worse than an elbow to the chin

It's a non-hockey play in the final seconds of a decided game with no possible outcome but to injure the player. But again, I know the Lightning get to skate under Parros and Bettman, so this kind of stuff is okay to Tampa fans.

It was clearly interference and looked like it involved head contact so I can see why they're taking a look at it. Because Compher was ok though I doubt they'll do anything.

The DoPS prefers to wait until a player's brains get scrambled before doling out punishment.
I think they want a chat with Lilleberg because he's flying up the PIM scale, he's already 6th in the league. A couple of weeks ago he got a game misconduct after the Mark Kastelic fight, but then he didn't hear anything from the DoPS. So you never know how they'll react.

You're not even hiding your bias, can just ignore your posts now.

But this was an intent to injure, with no possible outcome other than a goal. Again, if the standard is non hockey plays in the final seconds of a game merit a suspension, there should be one here, yes?
I wish when there is clear intent to injure, it should be a 2+2 min penalty. And if the other team score, they still have the whole time left, and a 3 game suspension.

This is too lenient with clear intent to injure, 20+ would be more appropriate, but some of you think face washing is clear intent to injure.

Tripping a player on an EN breakaway will never result in a suspension, nor should it.

Yeah this is pretty much the only situation where id like to have an enforcer on the team. That's a completely unnecessary play that resulted in injury

ya, im not picking sides on this - Kucherov, along with McDavid, Draisaitl and Crosby, are dirty pricks.

I can't believe the players let this go unpunished. All 4 of those guys would have got thumped in the past.

What a shocker, yet another case of an extremely talented russian with the mentality of a child. Must be tied to the nationality, considering Kovalchuk and the likes were doing the exact same, not to forget their so called leader.

What even is the bias? Is every single teams fans biased against Tampa? Maybe you’re just in the wrong here ?

I mean Kucherov has been underrated in several years and is absolutely in the top echelon of players, incredible player.

But this is garbage stuff. The "he hates to lose" argument doesnt work when its this dangerous of a play. Shoving a guy or hitting him is generally safer than unexpectedly tripping someone skating at speed when they could go headfirst into the boards. A concussion or neck injury isnt worth causing because you are too immature to not trip someone in a game you just lost. Same for crosschecking people in the side/back of the head.

Everyone is getting on the TB fans in here, and I get it, but this is the same as every single one ‘dirty play’ of threads go on these forums.

Every single fanbase calls the play in question dirty, except fir the fanbase whose player is guilty of the act, who defend the play and other.

It’s always the same, virtually 200% of the time.
