With regards to afinogenov, imo you weigh the risks before signing a player. Will the team who took an injury plagued player like a Gaborik be compensated when he spends half the season on the DL?

I agree with this, no compensation should be given for such things. He knew the risks when taking a player who could be in Russia the upcoming season, and it might have been the only reason for Afinogenov falling to that spot.

You've got one hell of an offense, your defense is okay IMO and having Lundqvist in net doesn't hurt. Top-10 team IMO.
However you're going to have to change the Recchi pick, as he was autoed to New Jersey before you selected him (I don't think the draft board had been updated to reflect that at the time, however, my bad).

Great team. The offence is really good. Defense is a bit of a gamble considering Stralman just had his first good season, Aucoin is getting up there in years, and Burns hasn't been the same since the concussion. But those are the negatives. I personally think those three will be ~30 pts or more. Your goaltending is fine.
A top 10 team IMO.
