As per SCB he failed the medical test. No reason has been disclosed, due to the medical confidentiality.

Wow... I can't imagine Bern not wanting a guy like Versteeg. I was thinking that he was the highest profile foreign player in Switzerland this upcoming season. So my guess is that the medical issue feels like the most credible option.

players price themselves out of teams cap hits and plans all the time
on top of that who knows maybe he could really use the money/last pay day
its the same reason why hudler and russell dont have contracts. Especially with the rumored asking prices that russell and hudler wanted earlier in the offseason.
Going to guess that versteeg wanted 3-4 mill with some security and people with with cheaper options

Kris, Nashville has a #1LW spot with your name on it. You don't have to worry about playing defense or hustling or anything. Literally just chill out until RyJo or Neal feed you the puck. It's a perfect fit.

I don't recall him having any issues at all with his hip last season. If there were problems, he played through it so that you'd never have known he was dealing with it.
There was, however, a late season foot issue which cost him some games.
