All I want to see is consistency in schemes from the AHL to NHL level.

Players making the jump shouldn't have to learn a completely new way of playing the game in two weeks. Keep some basic similarities in roles and deployments.

I didn't think it was an issue for a few years at least. Did I miss something?

This seems like a really good hire. And for my part, I like that they took their time with this. True deliberations are good.

I have followed Kris since the Otters, he is a hell of a coach and the players really listen and respect his coaching.

Solid post, and I don't mean to step but I'd be cautious on the 'helped develop' notion. Nice list of players there, but these situations are highly circumstantial. Knoblauch is fortunate to have those opportunities, and in an alternate universe he very easily could have the Flyers job.

While I would be interested to know more about who he really did make an impact on (and I'm sure he did with some of those names) I'll say it was the success of those names that helped him along and not vice versa. From a coaching style, the fit is a good one - puck possession, speed and transition. Then again, who isn't in 2019?

Last note, it reads as though Knoblauch has been very aggressive with moving up - perhaps too aggressive for the conservative NHL. Let's see if he's interviewing elsewhere by March.

i don't pretend to know a lot about this guy, but he is precisely what i hoped they'd hire,
a guy even younger than Quinn, but already established as an effective career coach, especially with young players who have gone to pro success

i know its a grey are to credit the success of MacDavid and others to Knoblauch,
but this situation, tasked making effective NHL pros out of Fox, Kakko, Krav, Shesty, Hajek, Rykov, Tarmo, Lindgren, and the rest, is an opportunity to cement his reputation for both development and winning to the NA pro hockey industry

of course. here at HFB, we will expect him to prove himself at Traverse City
