kravstov is as big a bust as we know these days, and the only positive he brings this trade is his passport

I don't think Kravtsov has much value. Maybe late 2nd value like Andersson did, if a team really loves his upside and think he can turn it around with a new team. Or he is a secondary piece in a larger deal. He was good, but not great, in the KHL when he was given opportunities, and he has sucked bad in North America.

McMichael is not there yet. Maybe in a year or two if he can't turn things around, but WSH can afford to be patient with him. I think the Rangers are done with Kravtsov.
Krav and Lias are 2 COMPLETELY DIF THINGS
Lias = complete no talent ingrate who get very opportunity day 1
Krav = mishandled, no opps until recently, snakebit atm

We see flashes of real 9OA talent
again no

He's 22, if the Rangers don't know what they have yet, they are just waiting for the rest of the league to tell them.
He needs regular top 6 mins.

He hasn’t gotten a shot in North America, if you go back through our GDT’s for his previous 20 game stint, everyone was fawning over him saying how much they wish Kakko and Laf looked like him. He got the most star votes (we do 3 stars votes each game) of any player on the team in those 20 games. He was in the top 3 pretty much every game. Then this season he was voted one of the 3 stars in his last game where he got a point, and was on Panarin’s line but then after coming back from an injury he’s a healthy scratch despite his last game being on the 2nd line. Gallant is just a moron
I wouldn't yet say G is a moron, but he and all other coaches just do too much experimenting of lines.
THAT is stupid = lack of familiarity = lack of building chemistry

He was supposed to be better than all of them. In reality he’s just as good as Oleg Kvasha on his bad days.
No one was saying he was elite, let alone THAT
He should be premium/superior based on talent

Genuine question here: With the capitals so depleted by injuries, why hasn't McMichael received more of an opportunity with their Top 6? Wouldn't they want their best prospect/young player there?

Unpopular opinion here. He is ineffective as a winger and I don’t think he’s done enough to displace Kuznetsov or Strome at #1C/#2C.

He should’ve taken Eller’s spot at #3C but Lavi is stubborn and doesn’t know how to develop young players.

His trade value was bragged about on here like he was elite. The guy in reality is pillow soft and can barely hack it in the NHL. Back to the KHL he goes when he holds out demanding top 6 minutes he doesn’t deserve.

He’s played like 5 games . Plenty of time to get better but Rangers should move him cause I doubt he really wants to be there

Kravtsov was not good enough to make the team last year and bolted to the KHL cause he didn't want to play AHL. He has a long way to go in terms of dealing with less time in space in NA.

He's no longer 1st round value. Could rebound but at age 22 and soon to be 23, you usually know what development track they are on.

I think he becomes a age 25-30 guy type target if he matures from now till 25. Until then, it's going to be a struggle and the Rangers will not get the value they would prefer if they move him now. Hoping he busts out is a reach at this point in time.

Why should this be an unpopular opinion? I have watched every single Caps Game of McMichael, Strome, and Kuznetsov and what we have here is unequivocally The Truth.

McMichael HAS BEEN ineffective as a Winger. If you want to have an unpopular opinion, try explaining WHY. Is it ability, usage, surrounding cast? Answer; it’s actually Door Number F, Laviolette loves and plays guys like Matt Irwin and Marcus Johansson [who should both be farming on the moon] rather than even making a passing attempt at letting young players (on offense or defense) learn on the job. The problem is that the team is so bad, the young players only stand out for their mistakes that immediately result in goals against, comedy of errors all around.
Hoping he busts out is a reach at this point in time.
I’m so confused. Isn’t this exactly what he’s doing right now?

If Kravtsov was good enough to play more, he’d get tapped on the shoulder to play more. He’s a bust. Kravtsov value is minimal at this stage.
He is mostly victim of mismanaging

They should have listened to me, not engaged in stupid win now, dealt effin Strome, and gave mins to this guy

His growing pains should be WAY WAY over by now

But noooooooooooooo they want him, raw and cold, to produce like top 6 pref top 3 when they have mostly given him llimited mins with mostly 4th line.
This is only STARTING to change NOW

He is not entirely without any blame, but most of this foul up is on mgmt

Bend, buckle and break Drury
Listen to bern next time

The bold is propaganda bs
He was better than a coupla guys but braintrust decided to do it their way.

IF IF IF he got same chance as Lias at day 1, then you have a case
He was jerked around, asked to turn into a top line stud overnight while playing w/4th line drek.

Drury may be too stupid to listen to me, but he needs immediate real opportunity and mins NOW, regardless of short term growing pains; long term is the needed focus here.

Why would the Capitals ever entertain this? Lol
Because when you are a Capitals fan you have to take into account that the organization may decide to take their incredible, elite, talented prospects /cough Forsburg and trade them for Martin Eratt!

Soooo stranger things have happened.

1/2 right. McMichael is stuck with a worthless imbecile for a coach. Trade might be good. Latoilette loves Russians.
You do realize you're talking about the 8th winningest coach in league history right? Also that every coach with more wins has coached a lot more games. Seems weird that you think he's an imbecile. He's by far the most successful coach in the league presently.

A lot of the Capitals fan base are blaming the coaches. Goaltender wise we let two pretty darn good goaltenders rot away development wise but luckily picked up two better tendies in echange, our power play is one dimensional and "the team has given up on the coaches". While I have never been a fan of HCPL's system of hockey, it works and it worked. For some reason he does not feel like his job is threatened enough to untap McMichael's potential though.

Upper management and the Caps front office are responsible for what we are seeing today and while yes it is bad, they did attempt to compensate by bringing in Strome and Brown which is falling short of acceptable. Now we have Backstrom a player who probably should never play hockey again coming back to be a savior along with TJ Always Injured Oshie. Injuries and the patch work not panning out is understandable. What was not acceptable was losing two amazing prospects on waivers which is the most recent prime example of "major screw up" since we traded Forsburg.

I have said it once and i'll say it again, I bet this team looks drastically different come trade deadline.

It's not propaganda. It's reality. He didn't make the team. Just cause you think he was better than others as a fan, it don't make it propaganda BS. It's just you not agreeing with them.

Lots of skilled players struggle when they turn pro. Got to overcome it somehow and sometimes it takes time but sometimes, the player is just not good enough. It's a very competitive league. At age 22/23, you usually know what you got.
