We can answer this question for you, but only if you tell us the name of your fantasy team. That's the rule here.
The current name of my team is No Team For Old Men. I will change it to Juggernaut if I ever finish higher than last place:). 30 player teams and my oldest player is Troy Terry.

KK looks like a bottom 6 C. Not the worst thing if he can play 3C for us but I was hoping he would get a bit better offensively. Right now he only has 3 points, but he is +2 and 58% FO win.
Offensively, he is what he is. But he's excellent in the circle and holds his own well in the defensive zone. Long term, I do think he will settle into 3C for us and that's perfectly fine.

And at his price point that's fine as a long-term 3C. His offensive production though so far is disappointing for 2C especially following Trocheck...if Aho gets hurt we're in trouble. It's also hard to tell too much considering half our top-6 and team in general have been invisible this season, and Svech/Nachos can pretty much produce on their own if needed. Martinook is technically top 5 on our team in scoring...

Brind’Amour has said more than once that he told Kotkeniemi to just keep it simple out there. Even remarked recently that he knows it’s tempting when out there with a couple of hotshots…(trailed off the thought)…but that he told him just to concentrate on distributing the puck and playing good defense.

It’s early in the season.

That’s something I think is concerning. What it looks like if Aho misses a month or two.

You’d hope Necas would get a shot.

Looks like you guys are in the "bargaining" phase. Let me know when that finally reaches "acceptance"
Meh.

Once again, KK isn't a bad player, he's just not a Top 6 C. But given what he's already shown, he'll be absolutely fine as our long term 3C, especially at that price point. And in our playoff run, if we are able to get a rental 2C or we can get Necas to fill that role, then we can play KK 4C and be pretty deep down the middle.

Haven't KK's advanced metrics been absurd? Obviously, you'd like it to show up on the score sheet, but if his line is dominating possession time, the end result is the same. The other team can't score if they don't have the puck.

Not really as it compares to the rest of the Canes. Here's his ranking among 12 Canes forwards (excluding Kase and Drury due to smaller sample size) for 5v5 play (per Natural stat trick just now).

On Ice:
CF%: 7th
GF%: 5th (and that's with Necas and Svech scoring a lot)
xGF%: 11th
SCF%: 10th
HDCF%: 10th

Individual rates:
P/60: 11th
Shots/60: 11th
ixG/60: 12th
iCF/60: 10th
iSCF/60: 11th
HDCF/60: 11th
Rush Attempts/ 60: None tied with 5 for last
Rebounds created / 60: 11th
Penalties taken / 60: 2nd (most)
Minor / 60: 2nd (most)
Penalties drawn/60: 4th most (meaning good)
GVA/60: 5th most
TKA/60: 12th least
Hits/60: 5th most
Hits taken / 60: 3rd most
Blocked shots / 60: 8th

EDIT: To be clear, all the the Canes forwards have pretty good on-ice numbers, due to how they play so his numbers in a vacuum aren't bad by any means. Just compared to the rest of the team he's on the lower end of forwards and by no means absurd.

He had an 84% CF against the blackhawks. That seems good.

He is doing all the right things away from the puck. Just got go get him more comfortable with it and theres no problem.

Im not worried yet

And that starts with him already being very good in the faceoff circle. In the defensive zone he's an absurd 27 for 39 in the dot, which effectively neutralizes a opportunity before it has a chance to get set up. His faceoff numbers have been slowly improving ever since he got into the league to the point where right now ELO has him as the 18th best player in the league at the faceoff. And honestly, based on how they calculate this rating, if he wasn't subjectively thought to be poor in the dot, his rating would be even higher.

The silver lining in his lack of production right now, is you have to assume there will be some regression to the mean. Even if he never becomes a 50+ point player, he's not a 5G, 15P player (which is what he's on pace for right now). Hopefully he gets hot the 2nd half of the season when the team needs to get hitting on all cylinders heading into the playoffs.

Mrazek's 2nd half of the season performance is in 18/19 is an example of that. Pre All-star break he was at .894 with a 2.81 GAA. Post All-Star break he was .938 SV% with a 1.83 GAA. He was incredible the 2nd half of the season that year.

I mean its really only inevitable that he starts peppering the score sheet given the line he's centering. Its only a matter of time before he starts collecting primary and secondary assists from playing alongside Svech and Necas this year. In fact, I think part of the reason why he hasn't so far is that we have him cheating defensively on the ice because those other 2 are so dominant so far this year that he hasn't really needed to get involved, yet.

He's not been playing with Svech and Necas lately though. I think the last two games, he's been with Jarvis and Drury
