Well, Gregor edited his post
They can bury almost all of it. His cap hit if the team is in ltir is 1.74M and if they are not in ltir then his cap hit counts for 824K+350k SB is 1.174M of which all but 24k would be burial. As it stands the Oilers are 966k over the cap with a 24 man roster including Klingberg and they can only carry 23 players on the roster so obviously they’ll be sending Brown back to Bako which takes them out of the ltir pool and thus Klingberg only counts for 824+350 against the cap.He had no leverage and still got a contract we can't fully bury when it turns out he still blows.
He's only 32 (two years younger than Ekholm), averaged 22 mins and scored 47 points just a couple of years ago. Could be a value signing if he's healthy.Long strides. Deceptive movement. Not sure about now. He's awfully long legged. He's got the long Drai legs.
It better not be a 2 year deal. Way too many of those on fringe players just to try to be cap compliant.I think he'll come in around $850K, part of is just wondering if it's a 2 yr deal at that price. I don't know why, just something sticking in the back of my mind.
It's not at all, just something I was wondering, but clearly it's a 1 and likely done.It better not be a 2 year deal. Way too many of those on fringe players just to try to be cap compliant.
It's not.Doesn’t this mean his full contract is not burryable?
I think a good chunk of those points were on the Powerplay, which he probably won’t get many minutes on this year. He was also a minus 28.He's only 32 (two years younger than Ekholm), averaged 22 mins and scored 47 points just a couple of years ago. Could be a value signing if he's healthy.
Then you walk away and let him be someone else's problem. He had more than one suitor, it’s a gamble that could pay huge. He wasn’t getting a league min deal.
I agree but we are talking about few 100k from being totally buriableYa, I don't love that salary
The 2022-23 season he produced at a P/60 at 5v5 as good or better than his last 4 years in Dallas.I think a good chunk of those points were on the Powerplay, which he probably won’t get any minutes on this year. He was also a minus 28.
I’m not a huge fan of the signing, but hopefully has something in the tank
He had 27 points 5 on 5 and 20 points on the PP, though only 1 PPG.I think a good chunk of those points were on the Powerplay, which he probably won’t get many minutes on this year. He was also a minus 28.

The big thing is performance bonus, which I assume is not included.
Short answer: no. Long answer: yes. Even longer answer: maybeDoesn’t this mean his full contract is not burryable?
Yeah, I’d say 20 out of 47 pts is a good chunk. I’m not saying all of his points were.He had 27 points 5 on 5 and 20 points on the PP, though only 1 PPG.
