He better not wait til then to get into trade talks with other GM’s.
Talk yes. But just like there was no need to jump the gun last season, there's no need to do it this season. If he hadn't we'd be in a strong position right now.

Rangers hit the top ten in Canada. Whose up for the cup? Wonder if I should get my old button out? :naughty:
They should at least dust off the old song with Don doing play by play in the background 😉

I’m the past once they get the recognition they do a complete 180 and turns for the worse.
I've thought they were top 10 material for a while but have been okay that they weren't in it for this exact reason.

I can only assume it's MM's phone that is ringing off the hook. It's no secret the Rangers need picks/young players and they have high flying assets right now.
I would assume he’s in talks to sell with prospective GM’s out there in the event we do decide to sell off whatever players.

Hey Saginaw. If we sell and if you’re interested in upgrading your OA situation, we need x and y in return for a Sop or Martin.

Hey Guelph, if you are interested in Hunter B, the price is x and y, if we decide to sell.

Hey Missy, if you want to fill your vacant import spot, we need x and y for Mesar, if we decide to sell.

Etc. Etc.

No doubt he’s got feelers out there to various contenders on our graduating players should we decide to sell and to what magnitude we decide to sell.

That’s all I’m saying.

MM didn’t jump the gun last year. He made deals early because he was always going all in, no matter what. A lot of his shopping was done before Christmas.

And this is why if MM does do a sell off and recoup picks instead of going for it….Carson gets traded this year. You get more for him. Plus you eliminate the chance of getting absolute nothing for him in the slim chance he makes the NHL next year or he has a season ending injury during the beginning of next season. Could you imagine how much this would set the team back if one of these things happen. Both slim…but both not impossible.

Roman Schmidt back to Rangers. That is out of left field.
Thanks Santa ;)

Martin is out for a while. Fractured pelvis.
Maybe not .... ?

Potentially working on a Schmidt trade before the Martin injury? Could see him finishing the year in Sag.
Assume Campbell gets pushed to 7th d and Scott gets moved.

We can go with 8 D. It often happens. Post deadline? Maybe not.

And…I’m still in the trading away players mode. Unless another player (Cutter Gauthier) falls from the sky this teams depth upfront is not good enough. What a weird year though. We either set ourselves up really, really nice for next mem cup in Ontario or we better win the ohl this year. I’m happy with either but I don’t think we have enough to push this team over the top this year to win. We will stay the same and lots of teams will improve. We sure do have a crap load of tradeable assets to really make a nasty team in 3 years.

Do ohl gm usually go to u17s as McKenzie is there rn. Potentially looking at the American prospects and import players?

I’m betting this new coaching staff will see to it that he improves.
Probably the biggest reason he was sent back was this coaching staff.

That, and perhaps an OHL GMs pow wow to start to set trades in motion.

I think he went to support Reid and Romano and to maybe look at possible players to trade for in a Hunter or Carson trade.
