I don’t mind him taking reps but for sure not against London. His foot work needs improvement…but I do see a solid shit down D in a couple years in him. Once Sale and Martin are back forwards will need to get their reps in too. Can’t just sit Stark and Romano all year when everyone is back. I’d imagine that’s who would be sitting to start.

I figure that once everyone is in the lineup, including Martin, we’ll have three pretty good to great scoring lines, or at least three lines that are a threat to score, and then the fourth line. That fourth line, even though they’ll be a shut down line, will put up some points here and there as well.
Yeah, so maybe it's just semantics as the old school way of thinking about it was your offensive talent was placed higher in the lineup than the two-way guys. I always go by utilization. I think of the lines in descending order of responsibility and ice time. The Mercer line will definitely be given more ice time and more responsibility than the kid line.

So in my mind, they're the third line. It mostly doesn't matter. I just find it misleading when they're characterized as the fourth line. (Which seems to come entirely from how they list the lines in the lineup Tweets).

Today for sure they get more responsibility than the kid line. But once the post season starts, there shouldn’t be a kid line. With a healthy top nine, Lam should be the only kid among the top 12.

So then we’ll have the three scoring lines and a defensive, identity line who would be effective against the opposition’s scoring lines.

He’s a little too green for me so far.

That being said. We’re one injury away from him being inserted into the lineup. Best to get him his reps before the post season to get his feet wet more than they are now.
Agreed. Was just curious to see how he’d do in a likely crash and bang game against them. Sold out barn on Friday.

Watching biznasty in the Ranger's dressing room pumping the team up you would of thought it caught on. It's just a puzzle how this team goes flat for some reason and sits back in their end in the third period. Why doesn't Jussi call a time out and put a burr under their saddles? We always say it's junior hockey which is true but we have seen this happen in a few games this season. Ottawa has to get some credit also. They have real some talented players on that roster. Not an easy win on most occasions.

Ottawa is a bit of a wildcard right now. They really didn’t have centres capable of playing OHL hockey at a high enough level to feed their strength on the wings pre-deadline. They had solid goal suppression but the offence struggled. Adding Kressler and Maillot is a game changer. It pushes wingers back to the wing instead of rotating unsuccessfully into the centre position. That has allowed them to play the game they are more accustomed to playing, heavy forecheck, quick sticks and feet, forcing turnovers at the offensive blueline picking pockets from behind etc. That is the type of game they played last year. Yesterday was the first game this year that reminded me a lot of last year. The tenacious way they play pressures the puck and forces the opposition to play it quick.

Ottawa struggles against heavier teams that can also skate with them. They will struggle with battling size. If a team can skate and is willing to play the body instead of the puck, Ottawa can be humbled.

In light of the team dynamics changing post-deadline, I don’t think you can look at yesterday’s game with heads hung low. Ottawa pressures teams when they are on their game and yesterday they were on their game. IF Ottawa continues to play that style and Kressler isn’t out long term with concussion issues, they will rise up the Eastern Conference standings.

It is too bad you saw NB earlier this season. They have changed as well. Oshawa will be a fun team to play at the end of your schedule. Jury is still out on Sudbury though.

Kitchener saw NB just over a week back when they had the Leblancs in tow. But Oshawa is rolling now too.
How is Kressler? Hopefully nothing serious.

Not sure why Section 9 would be $70 less than the other 2? I'm not even sure how these tickets end up on this site. Is it legit? Can I sell mine there? LOL!
StubHub resale site for scalpers and everyday ticket holders alike selling their seats. Prices are often nuts but sales are typically brisk, both for these & $20k Taylor Swift seats.

Taylor Swift signing the Anthem?

No idea about Kressler yet. We assume concussion but who knows. Sometimes they go into protocol and it ends up not being a concussion at all. Other times they are out 6 weeks. Never know.

Unfortunate hit. It wasn’t malicious. Just one of those aggressive hits with a bad result. With those water bug type players, you have to make a commitment to hit them or they squirt away.
