Same Jeff Marek tweet that started the whole deal days ago and went viral.

But, don’t be surprised if Saginaw and Peterboro brass leaned on the Habs to urge Beck to report.

For his long term development, the Habs may want him on a long playoff run in the OHL than joining Laval in the spring.

I don't think MM will be able to address what we need. Essentially this team is much weaker now than if he would have stood pat all year and traded Martin. He only gained a 2nd, two 3rds and a 4th round draft picks. 😥

I know there were extenuating circumstances but that's part of a GM's job to work through those.

Just a thought as I look at the lack of activity on the trade boards. But is it possible that other teams are "waiting" for a Hunter B, Rehkopf, Missle, etc to be offered up in a trade? Perhaps other teams know Kitchener's situation and are waiting for us to scream, "I give up"?

I still think he ends up in Saginaw. Wasn't their first rounder sitting out last night? Rangers certainly don't need him here. Rangers have the goal scoring. Need some defense with grit.

I feel a player of Beck's abilities would help the Rangers in any situation, when he is on his game. He is a complete 200 foot player and would help the D immensely. We would also have 3 solid lines that would be the envy of the league and would give the other teams less time to pick apart our D. Can we afford him?.....................Ugh!

Will MM be willing to pay or will he say the prices are far too high?
He better not. That’s right out of Spott’s playbook. Fail at the deadline and use high prices as an excuse.

If he doesn’t shore up the back end (stands pat), I bet against us getting past the 2nd round. If that’s the case, he may as well take advantage of the prices and sell a grad or two and we’d still get to the 2nd round.

So to play, he has to pay. That’s means an 07 on the table and maybe ‘24 picks.

There are more teams going for a run now since the deadline. It makes it harder to compete for the vets available if the other franchises have the assets to make deals. In the east the Soo , Sudbury , North Bay , Ottawa , Kingston all taking a shot. Brantford may also. That's just the east. GMs with assets have to be creative to fill holes. MM needs a miracle.

Rangers have Martin and Mesar yet to come back. Beck is a pipe dream here IMO. Cost every asset the Rangers have presently. MM needs to shore up the defense. Goalies need to step up and win a game also.

I would have gone into battle against any team in the league with the lineup we had up to November 10 and taken my chances. This lineup - not a chance.

Or they are waiting for the Beck shoe to drop. If he moves or not. Then, teams will act accordingly.

Saginaw is buying and their 1st is in play. If it isn’t Beck, it’ll be someone. That’s why he’s sitting.

Not sure what it is with this squad. One game they look like world beaters. Others they go into a shell. Is it that lack of a real leader or captain. Someone that can put the team on his shoulders like a Richards? It is a mystery.

They looked like world beaters last night in the first 30 minutes.

In fairness they were missing their number one line for about a month. But that doesn't explain for defensive deficiencies. In the playoffs they might be able to score their way out of trouble a few times. Or Parsons will bail them out. But it will catch up in the end.

One of those teams is in the westernmost city in the league and in the Western Conference. 😅

Staying pat seems like how it will go. 2027 is weighing on their minds
And if that doesn't work let's shoot for 2045 which will be about the next time we host the Memorial Cup 🤣

Seriously I wish they would have stood pat. Right now this goes in the category of soft sell when you look at the entire season.

“Carson Rehkopf day-to-day for now, team should know more this week. Same for Antonino Pugliese. D Matt Andonovski is good to go in North Bay”.
