Brock Otten’s mock draft-
Kitchener Rangers (Ethan Atticus Page) - Callum Croskery, D, Oakville Rangers
Immediately addressing the elephant in the room, Croskery has indeed committed to the Chicago Steel of the USHL. However, we have witnessed players changing their minds depending on the situation they are in on draft day. Or they play in the USHL for a year then commit to the OHL. If Croskery is to be picked by the Kitchener Rangers, I can see a universe where he stays in Ontario. Kitchener is a powerhouse when it comes to developing young players. And with the emergence of their star defender, Hunter Brzustewicz, Kitchener has a good reputation of pumping out elite defenders. Croskery is a mold of elite two-way d-man, having all the necessary abilities to transition well at the next level. His skating is among the best of the draft, and his vision with and without the puck makes him an asset in any area and any situation. This is why I feel Kitchener will select Croskery with their 15th pick.
We better have a 100% guarantee he’s coming (if there is such a thing!). We CANNOT have another Hage on our hands.

Hage's brother is in the draft. Guess they avoid that situation again. Draft is always interesting. Some teams have certain requirements and want to fill holes. Others take the BPA. Others sit in the bushes waiting for "flyers" to drop to them. Brock Otten has London taking Hage.

Take Brock’s mock draft with a grain of salt. I’m a huge fan of him and his articles. But they have London taking Micheal Hage’s brother at 20th overall. Will London roll the dice in the first round two years in a row on a player “likely” to not report? Especially after having been burned last year? I’m not so sure.

Or, do they take Alex Hage at 20, then trade for brother Micheal’s rights from Sudbury? And they both report??

Wouldn't that be something?? Ouch!!!

At least I suppose there’d be a silver lining to that cloud:

We’d get the conditional 2nd and 4th rounders in ‘26 from Sudbury to complete the Micheal Hage trade to Sudbury.

We always have surprises in the first two rounds of the draft. I like reading Brock Ottens articles. The first round is hard for any one to guess at but nice to read the info on players. There are always a couple of players or three that drop down the list and change the narrative.

Poor defensive effort cost them Erie's 2nd goal. Otters cycling at will untouched.
Mesar playing like a donkey passing it into the Rangers skates instead of skating it over the blue line was the reason for Erie's 2nd. So frustrating to watch

Tough for the kid. But that was unforced.

Can we win three OT games in a row? I don’t know.

Erie is due.
Erie has the momentum.
Erie has the crowd behind them.

Tall order for the Rangers.

Can't sit back on defense for half a period with a one goal lead. Erie has a way of capitalizing on these close situations. Rangers played Erie's game in the 3rd. Playoff hockey. Erie's big line keeps coming through for them.

As a team who is supposed to be a contender this year, we should be deep enough to cancel out one line.

Time for (captain) Sop to end this!
We don’t have a captain.
