Yes, I want you to provide a million examples. Not 10 or even 50, you are claiming there are a million so show them to us.
It appears you're a Blackhawks fan so...

1st OA: Alex Ovechkin
3rd OA: Cam Barker

3 cups in 6 years vs the 1 in the Ovechkin era.

same gif.
Good point, guess that means Laf's current ECF appearance makes him better than Dach, who's been part of one official playoff win.

Way to back yourself in that corner.

Cups = winning.

Everyone else was just a better loser that year

It is what it is with Dach, he hasn't blossomed offensively.

Figured he was gonna be a great 2C for the future but not with the production he has had. Chicago can choose to see what they can get for him or hope he has a better year. I suspect the value wouldn't be very good though.

Laf has been better, not by much but better.

I don't think I really need to explain how Cups do not make Cam Barker a better or more valueable player than Ovechkin. I'll just let you keep burying yourself with that one.

Meh. Washington was pretty dumb to play hardball with Trotz on money right after he won them a Cup.

Chicago, on the other hand, was pretty dumb to let Bowman destroy that team as long as they did. Crazy thing is, he'd probably still be doing it if not for the Beach thing.

When Dach scores eight goals next year there still will be people with the “three years ago he broke his wrist” excuse.

Just watch
His wrist could still give him issues next year and affect his play.

The only thing that would change is people's beliefs that he can get it back to 100%.

I think they played hardball on money or a contract extension going into the playoffs? Or was it after? Either way, yea, dumb.

In terms of Bowman...he did a good job at identifying what pieces/players to let go of to keep what he needed together to win additional cups, ultimately 3 cups in 6 years gets you a lot of pull. No idea how much longer he would have gotten as GM...I mean Ken Holland resigned in the end, not fired.

Chicago didn't have enough coming in the pipeline after Chicago sold futures to continually pursue the cup...I understand.

Unfortunately, the Leafs are my #1 team and I don't really like Dubas...but if he helps win the cup in my life time, I'm not saying shit again.

I draw a lot of parallels between Holland and Bowman. Both inherited a contender. Holland just got his later Cup because Hakan Andersson threw Datsyuk and Zetterberg in his lap.

I actually disagree on Bowman doing a good job at identifying who to let go of and who to keep. He traded Panarin for Saad. He traded Teuvo to dump Bickell's contract. (I think Bickell.... Maybe Brouwer?) He traded Jokiharju for Alex Nylander.

Then in a last ditch effort to keep his job, he blew apart the team's future to grab Jones and signed him to an absurd contract.

I meant more like trading Byfuglien, Ladd, Versteeg and even Bolland.

Got burned on the other deals in the end.

Bowman was a pathetic GM who got his job based on lineage alone, certainly not on performance

Edit: I was overly drinking when making this post.

Ehh I think Bowman was a lot like Holland. Tallon built a contender and inexplicably got canned, and Bowman reaped the rewards. Then he rode them way longer than a normal GM would’ve because he had the three Cups.

Seems kinda unnecessary considering Anaheim already has Zegras and MacTavish. Both of whom I’d consider better than Dach at this point.

There's 3 people on a line.

The three mentioned are all natural centers lol.
McTavish can start as a goal scoring winger. He's going to start at winger most likely regardless just like Zegras did.

I mean, Zegras moved to C in short order lol.

My point is, I think they’d be better served to use the assets on a position they need rather than add to what they already have.

Or use the pick for a position they need.

Anaheim seems to be in the pick accumulation stage of their rebuild anyways.

I mean, this kinda follows the same logic that the NJD in on Miller rumor does.

Both are a long way from contending, but centers are the last thing on the list of needs.

Would be like Detroit trading #8 to add yet another winger.

Not really. JT Miller is 29 and Dach is 21. NJ is also closer to competing than Anaheim imo so I think Anaheim is looking to add any young talent possible but it seems you know more about the Ducks than me :laugh::laugh:

Maybe a change of scenery for another top pick type of deal like Turcotte? Although I think the secret is out around the league that Dach has a bum wrist…
