I feel with faceoffs it's mostly just experience, you've got to take a lot of them and like you said, this year is good practice because the stakes aren't as high.

That goes pretty much for every player...we can stop halting development for the purpose of "winning" or because they don't want to sabotage their playoff hopes.

This is the year for trials and tribulations IMO.
That... and officials has to identify a winner, which is often the guy coming with the reputation when it's a draw...

He doesn't have arbitration rights, needs one more year.

Curious as to why the contract has not been done yet now.

I haven't heard/read anything about arbitration yet. My guess is HuGo has a Lou type agreement with Dach.

I guess so. But at the end of the day, every other team knows we will be over the cap after we sign Dach and we might be forced into a 21 or 22 man roster to get under the cap to start the season.

It's not really an emergency and it will get done.

A lot of players are in the same situation in the league. Not really something to worry about.

Not worried about it either. I'm Curious. Stop assuming things like emergency and being worried.

It shouldn't be a difficult bridge contract to get done. It's not like he ripped up the league last year and will get a massive raise where there is a massive contract gap into what Dach wants and what the Habs want. Usually, these are the types that are delayed.

You do know that none of us here work in the Canadiens front office to give you an actual answer right? What a dumb overreaction from your part.

You do know that you are a fan on a chat forum talking about hockey right? What a dumb post on your part. If you don't like to chit chat about it, you're in the wrong place bud.

"Emergency" or being "Worried". That is your comprehension which is false. It's on you, not me. I can't control your lack of comprehension, nor will I be held responsible for it.

Never seen someone get so worked over absolutely nothing. Good day to you sir.

The right strategy is to have someone on his line that is decent at faceoffs. If you have Dach on the PP and it's a offensive zone faceoff, you want to win it and maintain puck possession vs having the puck thrown down the ice and you just list 10-20 seconds of a 2 min PP.

I think some of you are underselling the important of faceoffs. Loosing a draw in the D zone can create a goal against... especially against a good puck possession team like the Leafs.

In a tank/rebuilding season? Not as critical cause we are not thinking playoffs.
Of course you prefer to win the faceoff and yes they are important faceoff and that’s why I want a 4 C that is really good in that department, same for my shutdown C. So you can use him on those important situation.

No rush to get the deal done...I imagine alot of players and agents are just wrapping up their vacation.

Either way, you can much pencil in a 2yr bridge deal around 2M/per.

That works well for defensive zone face offs. But unless you want your shutdown/4th C taking vital offensive zone face offs. Then skating off the ice for a line change. Your hope is that all of your centers are decent on the draw.
