They had an article in The Athletic yesterday stating negotiations have barely begun and they should be getting into that within the next week or two.So is this kid just not going to get a contract or did I miss something

It’s called risk management. As I’ve said before, capitalism drives socialist/globalists insane because the market drives the narrative. Not their historically failed ideology. Dach is a low risk high reward prospect at 21 years old. Especially in a capped profit sharing league. You insinuated that they might trade him next summer, after… a year, if the experiment is ‘’declared a failure’’. Which is far from enough time to let him find his ground and let him develop in peace. You don’t acquire a young center with the idea of trading him a year later lol.
They do not have cap room. Price and Byron count against the cap in the off season whether they are on LTIR or not.Weird for something that looks quite easy to achieve. Habs can go 10-15 % over the cap until the day before opening the season. They can easily sign Dach and Primeau right now. Many options are open to go under the cap: Byron and OR Price on LTIR; trade one of Hoffman, Armia, Drouin, Dvorak.....

Cost “certainty”? That’s called socialism. What we have here, finally, in the front office? Is a bunch of capitalists!Yet our capitalist owners insisted on a salary cap that denied the players the market system to lower risk and create cost certainty.
I don't think capitalism and socialism have much to do with the Kirby Dach trade.
Can we not get spiral into a ridiculous debate around political philosophies? I know it’s summer and nothings happening but maybe go outside and have a walk or somethingCost “certainty”? That’s called socialism. What we have here, finally, in the front office? Is a bunch of capitalists!

I think the Hawks gave up on him too soon and didn't really want to focus on his development. The Habs have put together a potentially stellar team for development and skills and I think they're in great shape for these "reclamation" projects if you could call Dach that. All the hoopla just makes me laugh lol
Over dissection again
Watch him do really well lol, got a great feeling
Capitalists? Do they play for the Washington franchise?Yes, the capitalists (the owners league wide) wanted cost certainty...
We have (hopefully) good hockey decision makers. Nothing to do with your concepts of capitalism and socialism.
They won't count when season starts as soon as they are placed on LTIR.They do not have cap room. Price and Byron count against the cap in the off season whether they are on LTIR or not.
There is no consequence for being a turd franchise in this league.Yes, the capitalists (the owners league wide) wanted cost certainty...

You guys need to go do something for the last few weeks of Summer.
The stone has bled dry on the Dach acquisition and the Slafkovsky pick.
And here you are…
I rarely ever post in this thread.
Find my last comment before this one before jumping to conclusions.
Haven't posted in either threads in weeks.
So now that I come by to make a joke about beating a dead horse, it makes me part of that?
Why not make the same comment to W3K as what he said boils down to the same?
They could, but whoever they are, I wouldn't see it

The best part about it all is the Hawks needed this guy to be the 1C eventually,I think the Hawks gave up on him too soon and didn't really want to focus on his development. We... have no money?
Clearly someone has to be moved still
And if they plan to put Slaf in NHL as well we will need even more cash off the books
I dont know if the plan is to wait for Price/Byron's 13.9 million to go LTIR,
That would obviously be enough to "call up" Slaf, but that still doesnt solve the Dach problem as you'd obviously like him to have a deal before the season starts/LTIR activates
So again to me, all signs point to someone else being shipped for peanuts
-You can go over the cap in the off-season by 10%
Well, I'm not sure how we can do one thing... without the other? Lol-so waiting for Price/Byron would have no effect.
