I’m getting ready to cut my losses here. I’d look on the market to see who’s interested.
There's no urgency to move him. Let him figure out his game. He's got another year on his contract. Hopefully by next year he looks like his old self or close to it. If not, we can make a decision then.

That being said, we should be open to deals involving 2nd line centers. Hage will be a while and if Dach can't do it we need somebody who can.

If Dach had lived up to his potential, Habs would have quite the lineup. Adding a player with his skills. Considering Montreal has best farm system in league things would be off the charts.

Montreal likely has to have change of plans in off season. Need second line center. Both Dach and Newhook have failed at that slot.

Yeah, and he is in the AHL now trying to earn back his spot while Newhook and Dach get to play with Laine 5on5 and are given PP2 time. What a great message to all our kids.
I have no problem putting Dach and Newhook in the press box but Roy showed nothing in his recent call up, I’d bring up Beck, Davidson or Tuch if you’re wanting to reward the kids

Roy is producing pretty well in the AHL, but I am fine with whomever. Beck at the very least deserves a few games for playing so well.

Let’s put it in context; he’s our least productive centerman. He’s our worst player in +/-. He’s constantly getting PP minutes, and playing with our best forwards. He’s brutal on the dot. He’s getting called for minor penalties left and right.

I understand patience. He’s been getting it plenty throughout his career. At some point something has to give. Effort is iffy, D coverage is lacking and he’s sulking a lot. What else can he do to go in the press box here? Sometimes what is in front of us is what the player is. I’ve waited half a season without much criticism but this is now at the point where a looksie on the trade front makes sense. I can appreciate your will to keep his minutes up and role up during a rebuild, but my quota has been filled here.

It's not fair to the other players if they bust their asses and Dach hurts them with poor play. Something has to give soon.

There's certainly a valid argument for taking measures like having him sit in the press box, but it's simply not true that they've haven't held him accountable. FIrst half of the season so far he was averaging 17min a game, 2nd half he's down to 14.5min, he's lost his position on the top PP unit, he's spent most of the year alongside cold linemates in Newhook and a bit of Slafkovsky.

He has been losing ice time and opportunities, and honestly he has been improving little by little. He's still not where we need him to be, and frankly there was no where to go but up given how much he struggled early on. But I'm not sure how replacing Dach with Armia or Dvorak on PP #2 changes anything beyond people's feelings.

Yeah, can’t believe some think he played ok last night. Give his spot to Jake, he earned it and it will pump up his trade value. Dach is an anchor wherever he plays.
Jake had Dach's spot for like 10 games this season already (when Dach was on the 1st line).

1 point in his last 15 games despite playing in the top 6 and the PP opportunities. Advanced stats are awful too.

Marty is reticent to making changes to a line that is obviously firing on all cylinders.
The change if it happens will come off the back of a couple of losses.

Yeah I wouldn’t go messing with lines that are looking good all in all just to try and get a few guys going.

Leave the lines as they are until they stop working like you said

Hope the Habs send a nutritionist home with him for the Holidays

I bet Dach is a cookie monster

His 1 goal was the freebie when the goalie misread the dump in and left the goal open too, Pez would've scored that

Yea that's insane.

The guy isn't even an NHL caliber player, like literally. Even on the 4th line you can easily find better players to do the job.
