Possibly, but it still won't make sense to break up one of your good lines because you then risk having 2 lines that will get exposed badly instead of just one. It's easier just to shelter the one bad line.

I'm convinced the earlier we get him up the better for our long term plans.
If we are going to lose Evans which is probable IMO it would be nice to see what Beck can do.
We already know what Dach and Newhook aren't doing.

A very poor showing from Dach last night after showing some progression......hopefully it is not a trend that will continue.

How does it look terrible? You have two hard working players playing with Laine, which he deserves.
I do agree that any line with Dach and Newhook on it is going to be exposed, though, but at least we can reduce their icetime even more with this set-up. If we need to protect a lead in the 3rd, we can just have Armia up there and give Laine a rest for a few shifts.

Between camp and his call up, Roy might be the only one that looked lazier than Dach this season.
I was a big advocate for Roy but to be honest I now see a ABB/Charles Hudon type of player.

Yeah, and he is in the AHL now trying to earn back his spot while Newhook and Dach get to play with Laine 5on5 and are given PP2 time. What a great message to all our kids.

The amount of penalties he’s taking is infuriating. Not like they are fights where he’s taking out his anger either, just stupid and lazy penalties every time.

They play of this line 5 on 5 basically consists of individual bursts from Laine and Newhook and nothing more.

I’m getting ready to cut my losses here. I’d look on the market to see who’s interested.
The ideal situation would be a 2C coming in a letting Dach benefit from insulated minutes in the bottom six. There's only one way to get into game shape (both physically and mentally) and that's to play games. It's an ugly scene right now with the way he is playing but the team has to let him play through if they don't move him.
I believe Dach can be a good player still but he may take all season to get back there. I'm willing to give him the whole season before I make any final judgements

I thought the last one was bs. He was battling for the puck legitimately.
I’d move him down the line up except the lines are doing well for the most part.
Evans has a good thing going and we’re playing better.

I don't want to make it seem like I hate Dach since I'd love nothing more than him to become that 50-60 point physical 2C. We aren't in a position to compete so this season is a write-off, but I don't think anyone anticipated him being the worst player in the NHL this season. People rightfully expected him to struggle, but this is a whole new level of bad.
Hopefully, he takes the offseason seriously this time with some new trainers as he really shouldn't have a long leash next year.

I’d have to see it again but it seemed like a legit battle for the puck. At the very least it wasn’t lazy.

January to the end of season will have a big impact on his future here.
We have the ammo to go get a big upgrade over him if need be. They won't go into next year with Dach at 2c if he keeps playing like this plain and simple.
Hope he can turn it around and be the player we saw last season out of training camp.

I feel like they've been getting slightly better together, but i think how you describe it is accurate.
Dach is doing barely anything. I feel like we're would get more out of Beck between Newhook and Laine if we made that move today.
Beck had one game of NHL action like a year and a half ago, and even then, did he look worse than Dach does today? And Beck has grown considerably since then.

He's got about 9 months to figure it out. If he's still ass by game 1 next season you gotta 100% move on.
