I just think that we've seen this movie before. A player gets hurt, doesn't play well and immediately gets called out for lack of effort.

The guy's coming back from a catastrophic injury. It's clearly f***ed him up and as I said to you, he may never really recover. But that doesn't mean the guy's not working to get back to where he was.

If he doesn't come back, so be it. We'll have to see. But this isn't a case of a guy who doesn't give a shit.

It's not.. but hey, who better to judge a professional athlete and their desire to improve more than a bunch of dudes with beer guts tapping the keys on a laptop.

Wish I could like this a thousand times , who cares Dach and Newhook are the side project not the main one , Dach has time to figure things out and if he can't its not the end of the world.
Dach was most definitely not a side project.

Given the fact that our captain was never really projected to become a top-10, premiere NHL centerman, Dach was quite obviously acquired to fill the role of a 1B C, with the objective of making us sufficiently strong down the middle on aggregate.

This not working out is certainly not the end of the world, but it puts a major dent in our rebuild. Let's not fool ourselves that it's a no biggie.

Kakko only got a 3rd. No point in trading him until the end of this contract unless you can gamble on something better.

Still think he has a 3 line winger floor

how dare you

I would never type on some normie laptop keyboard. I use a custom made mechanical keyboard with CherryMX Red switches and sound dampening, 0.4mm travel reduction, 40A-R blue o-rings.

I'm a pro at judging professionnal athletes. I ain't no amateur

Like I said before, the not training well in the offseason is a mixed blessing. It gives us a real reason why he isn’t playing well. But it’s obviously not a great reason lol.

Is there anything in these interviews of him saying why he didn’t train?

Pure speculation would lend me to think he was bummed. It’s understandable but obviously we’d all rather he came back in primo shape. That’s the mindset we’d all want him to have.

He probably would’ve had a rough time even if he was in shape but being overweight will make it worse.

The sheer amount of injuries probably f***ed with his head. I think he’s in a good environment to work through whatever he’s going through.

I just hope he stays healthy. If that can happen I think he’ll figure it out and be a helluva player

Beck’s question mark-y as a top 6 C but if he has Laine and Demidov flanking him I’m sure he could do just fine. At least he’d be a fine stop gap for Hage who easily has #2C upside and probably only has another year of college after this one.

Honestly it might be totally fine. I do generally agree with you. It would sting but are plan Bs and Cs are pretty promising

It's not that he didn't train, I think he was hyper focused on rehabbing and strengthening the knee area and less so on his overall game.

It seems like he just focused his efforts on the wrong things in the off-season and now he's trying to catch up on all the things he neglected which is harming his game.

I think it's more the mental thing than anything else but if it's a wake-up call and he works himself out of it, he will and we will be better for it. If it becomes a chronic thing, better to know now than to invest another long term contract on him.

I hope these are just warming up slap shots, cause they look like everything with Kirby. Uninspired, lackadaisical weak ass shots, which will be no threat to any NHL goalie.
To be fair if your trying to change the mechanics of something like taking a shot or your stride you do it by going slow and making sure you do the movement(s) correctly.
