Nah, I think the trade was a good idea at the time. But it doesn't look like it's working out. I still think the trade was a good idea even though it looks like it's not working out. The two things are not connected.
When you trade for someone on the basis of potential, you do so with the understanding that it may never be realized.
The thing is, the people making these bets (Hughes, Gorton, Bobrov) all of a sudden look like they got the wrong one on a bunch of them in a short span of time: Barron, Michkov, Dach, Primeau, and Newhook. Could even add ol Marty St Louis as well.
It sure as hell shocked me.
What ever happened to Adam Nicholas the masterful development guru? The new physio staff? The psychiatrists whose recruitment we applauded…? Did they all fail Dach or did Dach fail them? If the latter, do we know if this was the case in CHI where he had a terrible season before getting traded?
