What are you doing here? Why aren't you out there as an nhl Scout? If we go back to draft day are we gonna find your posts talking about how overrated Dach is and should be a late 1st at best?
"He’s so talented, he was taken 3rd overall" is a terribly flawed argument to make that it’s not even worth discussion. We are discussing the 2024-25 version of Dach, not the 2018-19 projected version of him.

This coming from the guy who said "it's just GMs being dumb". Now there is something not worth discussion. That's odd we are talking about Kirby today because you seem to be twisting it into Kirby has always been this bad, wanna make up your mind?

Never said he was always bad. Learn to read or stop being disingenuous.
I don't think he would get claimed if he is struggling with issues from the knee injury as you suggest.
He’d have multiple claims. I mean Oliver Wahlstrom just got claimed. Multiple teams would take a chance on Dach

Theyre not putting him on waivers lol
Are there no short-term work-arounds like conditioning/rehabing or free parking cards? Like @OldCraig71 I don’t find this waiver stuff intuitive.

Isn’t the actual purpose of a farm team to extend your roster and dress the 20 best on a given night? NHL players got it good with guaranteed contracts, no movement lists, etc my gosh. I mean he gets paid the same.

Pressbox is an option but we don’t have accountability on the team

lol it may make the current roster stronger, but the kid needs to be skating somewhere whatever his ceiling/timeline is…
Well there’s two options regarding Dach:

a) he’s slowly recovering from an injury, so maybe a break would do him good

Or

b) he just sucks and deserves to sit

Either way, maybe to sit a game or two isn’t the worst thing.

Perhaps…

I have a “C” where he is rehabbing and needs icetime, but is not nhl ready (no idea if it’s a, b or c)

There are a handful of guys who are struggling, Dach and Newhook are the two that standout......Armia, Gally, have struggled recently, Matheson has been hot garbage lately and gets played even more, so we have a ton of candidates who could sit.....take your pick.

Pezz and Struble can come in for any of the above, but doing this to the vets never seems to work. The coach has a pulse on what is happening, not that I am a big fan of MSL but again we have to trust the process.

He’s had 31 games (plus multiple preseason games) to get up to speed. He’s been skating since last February and was rumoured to wanting to play the last few games of the 2023-24 season. At some point the onus is on the player.

It’s not like we are upset that he’s not exactly the player that played against the Leafs in Game 1 last year. We are upset because he’s playing like one of the worst top 6 forwards in the NHL.

No one cares

Wahlstrom is on a 1 year million dollar deal vs Dach at a 3.3 cap hit for this year and next. I don't think teams would be lining up to nab a player owed that type of money especially if he is not 100 percent healthy.

He would be claimed for potential.
There are GMs that don't manage exclusively for the present...
Maybe we should do that too, while we are not contending... Just sayin'.

Apparently, he did not report to camp in shape. Let's see next year if he got the message and has a great summer.

Dach gets claimed 100% without question just because whoever takes him has the luxury to treat him as a 4th liner with potential instead of a key piece they need to develop in the top-6

At our current point in the rebuild it doesn't make sense to do anything with Dach besides being patient with him. Hopefully he can pick it up but if he doesn't, there really isn't any sensible option to explore. Doesn't make sense to trade, waive or bench him.

Be patient with him, but he needs to get out of our top 6. Let him earn his way back up to a premium spot. He doesn't deserve to play with Laine with the way he is playing. If he isn't at 100%, how does it make sense to play him at 2C?

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
I don't understand why people feel the need to shit on a guy recovering. Not only that but he makes like 3mill and he has 1 season left. This guy is the least of our concerns, if he's still terrible next season we just don't sign him.
"Recovering" He's been practicing on the ice since late May. His injury excuse 6 months after is getting ridiculous.

He is playing bad , he's lazy and he often kill plays.
What's wrong with saying the truth? He almost leads the +/- in the league while his linemates are all better. At one point you gotta start realizing perhaps he's just not that good and we got fleeced

Anybody else playing their way up to that line? nope...you're basically just moving around the undigested berries in bear scat from one side of the pile to the other...it's still shit man

At this point, the pro-Dach people are putting the player ahead of the team. Laine should be the player we are focusing on now, and putting Dach and Newhook with him is a travesty. "Oh, who are you going to put with him?" EVANS AND HEINEMAN. Two players that have been far superior than Dach and Newhook.

Just answered that.

Is there a report about this? I never saw anything
