Let him get reps at wing. Covering that amount of ice after this type of Injury at the center position just seems like a lot.

I'd have no problem if Newhook moved to C, with Dach on right but I want Armia off that line. I can't wait for him to be off this team. Move Heineman up to take his spot.

Slaf - Suzy - Cole

Heineman - Newhook - Dach

Andy - Evans - Gally

Pezz - Dvo - Kapanen

Can’t be a a top line Center if your gonna be a perimeter player in the offensive zone and have absolutely zero shooting threat.

I don't know what's better for Dach. Getting thrown on the first line as winger and more pressure OR put on the 3rd line and less pressure.

It would be a complex question of how he feels and if he's taking pain killers.

And of course how he feels about it and the compounding with other injuries.

In my case i was a little bit depressed with "why me" for a while. No career or finiancial issues whatsoever to worry about yet...even fully healed it still a bit of a mental scar that only time will wear away.

In Dachs case, the next accident may hobble his career. It may weigh more on him then he wants...or admits.

SUPRISE...Dach is as strong and as frail as the rest of us humans!

I sound like a broken record but worth repeating...give him time. Let repetition and his will to succeed heal him. I'm 90% we will get the monster Dach by Xmas. If we don't his life must go on...and so will ours.

It's the system, all lines are doing it on this team, and it's garbage. Dach needs some wingers man, he's playing with 3rd and 4th liners. They need help behind the bench badly , if it wasn't for Cole the team would be hooped.

I don't get how some of you are blaming his wingers for the line's lack of success. Kirby Dogsh*t's been the worst player on his own line this year. Consistently makes the wrong decision, poor effort in puck battles, laughable faceoff %. None of that is Armia's fault.

I think fans assumed he would come back and immediately take a step forward to become a top 6 center, but it's becoming apparent that he actually took a step back and some of the takes in this thread are looking pretty bad. There's a natural tendency to blame the players surrounding an underachieving player we have high hopes for, and I think that's what's going on here.

Of course he can improve, and we all hope he does, but unless he does this team is going to hang in the basement. Which is fine, being in the mix was never realistic.

I wonder how Dach would of been with Laine and Slaf...scoring consistently.

Getting results would be a HUGE mental high possibly fixing any mental issues.

Maybe we get lucky for once and get the old Dach back at the same time Laine comes back.

Or not....

He's still going to need lots of time to get back to what he really is as a player. That's why I have no problem with letting Newhook centering him because we know that's Newsy's strength. Let him skate all over the ice while Kirby gets back to normal.

Marty just need to go. I barely see any improvement in any team play aspect

I think a few things need to be tried before letting him go. I would give him another season personally to start with. But, he hasn't had many quality veterans. Before breaking down this year, Savard had a very good year last year. Lehkonen was playing his best before being traded. Matheson had a career high. This means he's able in theory to get good veterans playing well. Right now, he has nothing in terms of experience on the wings in the top 6, no real defensive winger or center, no faceoff specialist, no shutdown D. That's on management and their choice to go with a very young lineup that's still building an identity, but individually and as a team.

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
Dach has now the worst +/- stat in the league*. His biggest flaw, outside of the faceoff dot, is the complete absence of killer instinct in the offensive zone. He just doesn't have that in him. Even in the WHL, he wasn't a big point producer. All things considered, I think the probabilty of Hage becoming our second line center going forward is higher.

*Playing with two plugs doesn't help.
Newhook isnt the biggest plug between him and Dach tho.

I just think Dach is not suitable as a center. He has no business as a center.

Depending if Dach has physical scars vs mental scars.

If they are mental scars then getting on the top line and scoring will pump lots of scar clearing endorphins in his system.

If they are physical scars, meaning still pains skating then only time and exercise will reduce them. So playing winger on the second or third line for now is a solution.

We don't know for sure what ails him...

He stinks right now but it's clearly issue of missed time. He's not this bad.

I give him 40 games to figure things out. Then a strong 2nd half especially with Laine coming back

Joe Thornton......He was a pretty good #1 center.

Calling Dach a perimeter player is nonsense, he is not afraid to drive the net and play physical. Most fans just don't understand what a center actually does. Centers are usually the F3 and do not stand in front of the net just because they are in the middle of the ice. Wingers are the forwards who are usually expected to do most of the dirty work in front of the net.

If anybody comes back with any version of "wingers are not in the middle of the ice so how can they be expected to play in front of the net" I will not reply as they simply need to actually learn how the game is played.

Dach clearly has not recovered his speed and it is affecting his game. His timing is still rusty as are his hands. It is no surprise that he is off to a slow/poor start. We are six games in lol.....the hand wringing and consternation over such a minuscule sample is embarrassing to have to read.

Let's give Dach another 20 games before we even consider getting remotely concerned about his future. The truth is that he may need the entire season to approach the form he was in when he got hurt and next year is really the goal for a full recovery.

He has been terrible, I am not defending him but the response on this board is even worse.

Bookmarking it for what? I did not make any assertion as to how this will eventually play out. Anybody making bold assertions right now is doing so without ample evidence to support their prediction and are just floating nonsense out into the ether.....this is the only assertion that I am making.

You just said that calling Dach a perimeter player is “nonsense” then proceeded to say you know more than most fans. You clearly are implying something here. This is who is. He’s a slightly better Lars Eller

Ok fine, we re good on the PK. And we are good at what else again?

We are 12th in PP%......our special teams have been very good.

Why don't you wait longer than the first 5 or 6 games which are historically the most meaningless games as far as predictive evidence.
