Aren't they really good ? Haven't checked.

But, I'd keep him on the wing. He needs players high offensive IQ and it's pretty much a desert outside Suzuki and Caufield. Let him get more and more confident.
They were good but that was before he was sent up and he wasnt producing.

Id like him at 2C at one point. Monahan would fit well with him. Dach has a lot of the qualities that made Monahans career (Gaudreau).

Keep him with those two for now, there is no point in going back to center when all the wingers besides Caufield, Slaf and occasionally Anderson suck.

I like how in denial Hawks fans have been about him ever since the trade. It's like KK around here, only Dach doesn't suck ass and is actually playing really well. Hope he keeps it up all year.

It’s really been a great trade by Hughes, I was admit-tingly hesitant on what we gave up to get Dach but he’s been absolutely lights out for us since the first pre-season game. I’m proud to admit I was wrong about that one.

This is the first time in like 30 years we have a legitimately scary first line.

You can't put him back to C now. Maybe at some point but he's got 9 pts in his last 6 ffs.

At some point Slaf will be up with Money and then it'll just be a matter of finding the right fit for those 2.

And he very very likely can still be better. Kid has a potentially huge ceiling. That first line could turn into a top 5 one in the league if it isn't already.

Trade for Dubois, and we could have a very scary 2nd line as well
Slafkovsky - Dubois - 2023 1st pick/Mesar/Farrell/Roy

Might not even Dubois for that, but I like the way you think!

Caufield-Suzuki-Farrell
Slafkovsky-Dach-Mesar/Roy

But if you can get Dubois that cements it, you have the option of playing Dubois or Dach at wing.

f***, yes.

I’m a Leafs fan, but with Dach, Suzuki, and Guhle I’m rooting for the Habs every single game. Regarding Dach in particular, I’ve been his biggest proponent since the beginning. In 2018-19 I argued he should have gone second before Kakko and had the greatest potential in that whole draft. Now he is finally getting the chance to blossom, and he’s already scoring at the same rate as Hughes or Zegras. It’s not just much better linemates in Suzuki and Caufield (why would anyone not pair Dach’s amazing playmaking with guys who can score?) but a coach that trusts him and gives him ample ice time.

Dach has 100 point potential and I think he’s found the absolute best spot to realize it. I’ll be here cheering him on every step of the way.

NOW, I like him. He’s involved. Eating crow.
It's development.

Under Therrien/CJ/DD he'd be on the 3rd line or something. Everyone here would be screaming he's a bust. I'd argue we should put him with better players to get him going and then I'd hear how he has to "earn it." We'd waste him for a few years and then he'd be sold off as spare parts or would retire....

That's what our lives have been for the past decade. We've gotten so used to horrible coaching that we just figured that it's the way it is... it isn't.

This is what rebuilding is SUPPOSED to look like. This is what good coaching and development looks like. If we'd done this with our past squads we'd have been infinitely more successful.

I'm so stoked that we finally have a regime that understands how things work. Dach is taking off and it's great to see. I hope they keep him there for a while and then maybe later on we can try having him center the 2nd line when he's got his full confidence again.

It's going to be fun watching this club over the next decade.

No need to trade for Dubois. Sign him in two year when Hoffman, Drouin, Byron,... contract are expired and ride this to start the 2025 season:

Dach-Suzuki-Caufield
Slafkovsky-Dubois-Mesar

The jets will look to trade Dubois next summer, so there's no guarantee Dubois makes it to free agency.

They could trade for Dubois to get him earlier but I am sure they won't give up much to get him.
