Yeah saying he should be waived/traded/demoted and calling him lazy was never warranted. There was no excuse to not understand he would take time to recover but a large group of so called "fans" decided to shit all over him here. They should be embarrassed and they still haven't learned, they blame him for anything that happens when he is on the ice as they did in this game too. It's nice to see them eat crow.
I never stated he should be waived, and the only trade talks for him were for superior talent. I only spoke fr giving him short term relief from having to produce in a top 6 role for his sake, and I stand by it. Others can make ridiculous suggestions but I wasnt one of them. The critisism of his play was warranted, but he is doing well now. I am glad.

I’m also gonna add that it’s normal fans want to Kirby to succeed.

1. He’s got a lot of offensive talent
2. If he reaches his potential, this team takes the next step. He’s such a key cog for the rebuild.

He played like ass for 90% the season, but I am still hopeful.

His season started after the break.

One thing that impresses me about his recent stretch is his goals. For someone with a below average shot to hit the net is a very good sign. It's nice that his skating is better, but getting goals, which isnt a strength of his, is awesome. That is showing real improvement.

just refreshed his stats

He isn't embarrasing anyone. The critisisms were warranted. We are all Habs fans at the end of the day, and Dach's success is good for all of us. Some fans choose to look at things differently, but we all want the same outcome.
I agree fans have a right to complain, but in Dachs case they were in the wrong imo. Kid had complete knee reconstruction a year ago and literally only had a matter of weeks to test it this season before people were riding him. . He didn’t forget how to play.

if they were wrong with Dach, they were wrong with Slaf too.

He had a meniscus tear too? Cartilage replacement? Complete reconstruction?

Yes, the goals are starting to come and he's playing better but what I'm focusing on is how his form actually looks like compared to pre injury and it still looks like it has a long ways to go.

You see how Laine enters the zone and holds/protects the puck while scanning his playmaking options? Dach would do that regularly and based on the games I've seen, he's still not doing it. Hes still tentative with making power moves to the net or utilizing his reach.

I see him more content to play it safe with the chip and chase to gain entry. Which is not bad in itself but it makes you a more generic player.

Happy to see him get on the scoreboard a few times recently but I'm still not seeing the same player.

I watched the highlights and he looked awesome again, what a superb game winning goal.

He made a mistake on Vegas' first goal, but I loved how he followed his man tightly, on that defensive sequence.
His line just has to keep putting up points to help offset the rehabilitation curve and the D side gaffs.
There is no way they could have let it go on indefinitely.

I mean blaming the first goal on him is a stretch. He made a bad pass that led to a breakout. Broken passes lead to breakouts all the time.

Dach covered his man, Arber got beat and Newhook was late to help out with coverage. Even with the turnover, it turned into a 3v3 counter attack.

Its definition of a reach.
It was so typical of his season. Makes a mistake and it in our net. But you’re absolutely right, so many things happened after that errant pass. He contributed to that goal against but I wouldn’t say it’s all on him. That’s a real stretch.

He doesn't have a below average shot, the self anointed truisms on this board are mind numbing.

It was Xhekaj who was entirely at fault, Dach did a superb job and eliminated his man.
