According to NHL Edge, they are practically identical in terms of top speed and speed bursts above 20mph. Suzy holds a slight edge there.
It depends who you look at NHL 25 player ratings have Suzuki's acceleration at 93 and to Dach at 87 and top speed at 91 for Suzuki and 87 for Dach.
I'm simply pointing out Dach doesn't have the change of pace Suzuki currently possesses which has been obvious.

It's probably the last thing to come back for a player returning from knee surgery.
The bursts are one thing but the time it takes to reach top speed is the most important factor in hockey.

Hopefully Dach's game should improve as he starts getting that first step back.

Even as a Dach detractor, remove that penalty and I think it's another game of some slight improvements. I found he was moving better and notably engaged.

Newhook can really move his feet. It improves the line. Heck Newhook might even get an assist touching a puck that Laine puts in. Sky is the limit.

This is insane because we got a bunch of really bad hockey players. But…right now I’m starting to think Kirby is the worst player in the league.

That +/- stat is not lying. A miracle needs to happen soon because he doesn’t belong in the NHL right now.

Come on.... I get the frustrations, but silly comments like that are about as useful as his play this year 😉
I don't think he is coming out of this. I hope he does but it's been 30 games. Some guys don't recover from serious injuries like this, I truly hope I am wrong. Maybe he was never that good to begin with.

We saw him play amaizing before injury, many of us were thinking he would even surpass Suzuki. How quick we forget. Give him more time.
I keep thinking about why Chicago, a team commencing their own rebuild would trade a 21 year old 6"4 Center drafted 3rd overall only 3 years prior.
I hope I am wrong and my opinion means squat but he is flat out hurting his team and should probably be on the 4th line working his way back up to the top 6.

I myself think Dach has been absolute trash, and even the more positive games are still below par when disregarding the aggregate.

All I can say is, I remember when Desharnais was going through an awful extended streak. Michou never abandoned him.

That giveaway against the Ducks was egregious. The dejected look on Monty’s face says what we all know: This is Losing Culture.

No accountability to each other. No professionalism. They’re getting overwhelmed by their emotions because they don’t have control over their efforts and rewards.

Five other guys on the ice feel hopeless and helpless because one guy’s struggles are, basically, catastrophic and the coach and GM won’t do anything to change the dynamic.

Dach should’ve been scratched and given a rest weeks ago. Now it’s farcical.

He never did it from the C position though, only on the W with Suzuki and Caufield, which is also the only place Slaf has ever had any success. Makes you think....
Yes, before the 2023-24 season Hughes said he wanted to see how he’d do at center. That they already knew he fit well at wing on the top line.

Dach was carrying Dadonov and Hoffman from the time he was taken off Suzuki/CC wing to when he got his mysterious injury/illness...and he was doing it while being double covered.
