If it wasn’t for the Suzuki Caufield and Dach line, we’d be last place. They’re literally the only forwards producing anything. Where did the vets go?? Disgusting that they vanished and play like they just dont care. I’d get rid of any and all of them at this point.
Well, at least they are helping the team get a good pick next year...

Aren't the Habs last place anyway? Obviously the Habs are trying to trade all their vets, have you not been following the team in the last 16 months?

Would you play 5 forwards on the PP ? Dach being the QB ? Caufield in ovy’s office, suzuki on the right & then I dont know who would be on the bumper spot and the other on the goal line…. I think that Dach could QB the PP until we have a D that can take over that role

Yes I would do this.

Slaf in the bumper, Monahan or Dvorak in front of the net.

Monahan
Caufield Slaf Suzuki
Dach

Ir if you want Slaf to be the focal point of the 2nd unit:

Unit 1:
Dvorak
Caufield Monahan Suzuki
Dach

Unit 2:
Armia/Gallagher/Anderson
Slaf Evan's Xhekaj
Guhle

With his three assists in the last game, Dach os producing at a .833 PPG pace. Not bad for someone who has 26 points as a career high so far.

68 points over an entire season (not happening, most likely, but getting 50+ points will be a good step forward for Dach in his development).

And that’s where the 2023 draft comes into the fold. :naughty:

Wouldn’t it be great to have another Suzuki/Caufield like line!!

I agreed with you. I would let Dach play with Suzuki and Caufield. They are around the same age and would be nice to develop chemistry with each others.

I would rather Slaf to play on the second line with our 2023 first round pick (if we got lucky and draft in the top 3).

As soon as he can be in top 3, it is worth as much as a 2nd center. Monahan can be a perfect 2nd center for us

Absolutely.

I can honestly say that the Caufield-Suzuki-Dach line is the most skilled/best 1st line I’ve seen since the mid 90s. They all think the game at an incredibly high level, have an elite skillset and that skillset just meshes well with the other guys on the line.

With Beck/Mesar/Kidney all in the pipeline, there’s no reason to be dead set on Dach absolutely needing to be a Center at 21 years old. We don’t have enough guys that can play at his level for him to succeed at Center in my opinion.
We have so much, you forgot Roy, but Roy is a winger like Mesar.

I don't think apart from faceoffs that Monahan is a natural playmaker. I htink he is better as a winger for Suzuki/Caufield.

I think Dach has to be our 1B C down the road, but he will need scorers to feed.

I don't mind him playing top line now on RW, in a playmaking role in addition to cycling and forechecking.

But if we want a balanced offence, we don't really have a playmaker for the second line.

To balance the offence a bit:
Caufield-Suzuki-Anderson
Slaf-Monahan-Dach
Droffmonov-Dvorak-Gallagher
Pïtlick-Evans-Armia

Right now with useless Dadonov OFFman, Drouin arround, you can not have balanced team. I want to build the best line who give us the show than 4 shitty lines

I wonder where those posters saying ¨bum wrist...30 points max...bla bla¨ are now? He is looking really good as the entry and setup up guy on the top line. :thumbu:

Patience...Ottawa, Pittsburg, Nashville, StL should all pass us.
Are they in tanking mode ?

I think Slaf-Monahan-Dach would give a nice show too. Kirby is a great passer, Monahan has scored as many as 34 and Slaf will bury some feeds. The three together could drive possession and rarely be bottleed intheir own zone.

If we are ready to sacrifice the fourth line, then put Evans or Dvorak on 3LW and they can share faceoff duties.

Caufield-Suzuki-Anderson
Slaf-Monahan-Dach
Evans-Dvorak-Gallagher
4th line of penalty killers and time wasters

I prefer the players do their best than happy to be the last mentality
i prefer we win the Stanley Cup but we have decided to go with rebuild hence the trades for high picks since Hughes took over. He did not trade for win now players! Do I need to explain this to you? this board is full of different variations on this take.

Such a unique skill set. Agree with others he looks like a C.....a big playmaking C, makes it look effortless. So young still, younger then KK. Hard to believe he can't get better in the dot, guy has only taken 600 FO's his whole NHL career. That said, I don't really care where he plays, if he can dish like he has been this year.

Would be amazing if he could develop into a Backstrom lite type player.
