To add on to this though, I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that Dach is the first player that made this line have positive underlying numbers.

100%

He’s good defensively and his strength is in transition so he helps them with that too.

Anderson, Hoffman, Pitlick, ect… name everyone MSL played with them doesn’t have this kind of talent. It was probably a little better than 37% with Monahan but not close to what Dach brings to that line.

Wanted to say this as well.

He's not. The other combination that had positive underlying is Caufield, Suzuki and ... Mike Hoffman.

Granted, they played less than 12 minutes together whereas Dach at this point has spent more time there than anyone else.

Its all a small sample size right now, but Caufield-Suzuki-Dach is working really well.

Monahan played about ~12 minutes more with them (4 games?) and that version underlying numbers were very good offensively and much better defensively than the previous "trials", but Dach makes the line even better defensively without reducing the offensive output it seems.

Oh true I did forget that Hoffman actually had positive numbers haha. Thanks for the correction!

But yeah, obviously it didn't work as well as Dach. I think it's good that he's getting the opportunity to play with good players, but wonder how they plan to eventually transition him to C?

Maybe play him on the W for now until trade deadline when we make more space up-front?

Let me know when Caufield gets good at getting the puck out of his zone.
Caufield is a defensive liability, that was always the case. Maybe he improves over time, maybe he doesn’t - he’s a goal scoring specialist that’s who he is, take it or leave it

Dach has always excelled at zone entries.

There’s a difference between being a liability defensively and defense not being a strength. It’s not his strength, but he’s definitely not a liability at all.
You either exaggerated to make a point or don’t understand the difference.

He's not driving a line but he doesn't need to, giving high end passes consistently is good enough to score at least 50 points playing with CC and Suzuki. Hope he doesn't think about going back to center soon because he looks much better on the wing.

He looks the same as he did at center. The only difference is he's playing with better players and ones that can score goals.

His skill set has center written all over him.

He'll get back to center eventually IMO.

There is no top end centerman that has a faceoff success below 40%. His skillset WILL have to get that number up if he ever wants to see that position again.
