Player Discussion Kirby Dach (Part 3): TabarDach Edition!

I actually think a veteran would go a long way seeing as how there’s the likelihood of Beck being a full-time centre next season. Probably wouldn’t cost that much. Lots of options anyways.
I think contending teams will easily acquire these players if they don't cost much.

Can we even trade him at this point ? If I'm another team's GM, I'd want no part of him.
There's no way, you might as well buy him out when the window opens or just wait for him to show out of shape again next camp. I'd avoid that situation for the locker room personally.

Once he's healthy buy him out.
His buyout would only be 29K next year and $667K in the year in 2026-27

Granlund is pretty good this year, maybe he's an option for 2 years?
I'd give it a shot for sure. If he's willing to take 2 years term, I'd offer significant dollar because it doesn't hurt our window and gives a soft landing for our younger centers (Beck, Kapanen et Hage).

Dach will be in camp next year, but we can't rely on him.

Going with

Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Laine - Granlund - Demidov
Heineman - Dach - Anderson
Newhook - Beck/UFA/Evans/Kapanen - Gallagher

His time in the top 6 is done for the foreseeable future.

Assuming we don't move him in a trade for a 2C then I'd like to see him at 3rd line RW alongside either Newhook, Beck or Kapanen. I still stand by the opinion that he looked considerably better on the wing. Maybe if things don't work out with Laine long term then he could find his way onto the wing on the 2nd line someday.

Sucks for the guy. Seems like he's a really good lad but all of the odds are against him regaining any sort of form. This was almost a write-off year (much like Laine's) for him to find his legs and hopefully work on himself in the offseason to try to find some sort of a gear.

We're back to an ever familiar state with this franchise: needing centres.

If we don't resign Armia/Evans, miss out on Olivier, Beck/Kapanen don't steal a spot in camp, then Dach still has a place in the bottom 6 as his last chance to be an NHLer.
