Player Discussion Kirby Dach (Part 3): TabarDach Edition!

He has a turn radius like a cruise ship, nothing drives me more crazy than watching him do a slow loop to get back onside in the offensive zone, or a quick trip behind the opponents net when the puck is already heading up ice

It’s clear he’s paranoid about making any sharp turns at all with his knees, which makes him useless as a player

Don't putting word in your mouth but you say he's not a gamer or a winner, the guy had freak injury since junior, don't know the guy but injury can take a lot on the mental, like I said all he have to do is be injury free, it's not like his skill have vanish in the air suddenly, he can still be a top 6 C 60 points plus per year with his playmaking skill with Demidov, again he will need to have a very good summer we all know that and the contract year should be an extra motivation for him, I don't want to say it's is last chance for him from me cause there's a lot of things I don't know, but what can i do I love those huge skilled forward and beside him and Slaf, well...
It’s in the team’s best interest for Dach to prove me wrong. There is a reason Chicago let him go.
If Dach was truly serious he would spend this summer in Montreal rehabilitating. Whatever he did last summer didn't work.
Yes and I would like to find out if that’s the plan.

You still need games to get back into it and be inform. It’s not just being ‘’ready’’ or having your injury being rehabilitated. It took Caufield a season to be himself again. Dach it will take a while too.

worse case scenario I am hoping Dach can reinvent himself as a gritty 3rd line winger. He has a mean streak and his first season with the habs he was fantastic on the cycle game and winning battles. If he can come back with an edge, strong board play, a chippiness as a bottom 6 it would at least salvage some aspect of the risk taken on him.

He wouldn't be the first player to turn it around from multiple early-career injuries, but the odds are against him. My expectations of him are very low at this point. I'm hoping he can bring back the magic of his first season with the habs.
A good cycle game won’t impress Marty tho. He doesn’t think it accomplishes anything. Dangerous ice not in the corners.

He prefers retrieval then quick movement, low to high.

It's always funny to see X player took X years to explode, let's be patient with Y player. We can do that with almost any player.

Every struggling tall 1st rounder is Tage Thompson

Every 20-30pts top 5pick F is Sam Bennett

Kirby is both!

Without injuries, I'm a still huge believer of Kirby Dach. Isn't question of his talent or production... he is really his healthy concern.

Everything can happen, I still hope he can just stay healthy and don't be afraid to be hurt again, because his 1st year with Habs... he prove that he can become a dominate player.

I trust Dach performing with Demidov way more than I trusted him performing with Laine.

I don't know where I read/heard the observation, but Dach tend to shadow and accentuate his wingmen style. Laine slows the game (way too much) and Dach had to play slower too with him, which doesn't work. He needs someone who can up the tempo for him, and 'midov does this naturally.

And anyway, it's not like we'll have much choice, baring some great trade for a C.

Unless Hughes manages to pull a rabbit out of a hat, chances are Dach will be centering in the top 6.
Just hope for his sake that he comes to camp in tip top shape.
I'm of the one of very few that is ready to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Oodles of talent............but can't stay healthy. Question is why? The guy doesn't seem to take it all seriously? Can't protect himself from crazy injuries?
He is now playing for his next contract..........this in itself should set off his alarm and prove to everyone he is an NHL player.........again, loads of talent, but not so much between the ears????

Or...........is he just unlucky? As a fan of his, I want him to get going, and see this work.

He did arrive at camp out of shape and took him some time to get going before re-injuring his knee.
I would also like to see him get going, the talent is there...

How many goals and points did Debrincat had that year and how many Dach had?

Dach would have not affected the tank whatsoever.
This is with hindsight knowing he did not progress. The Hawks had no access to any of that hindsight. He was 20 years old in his last season in Chicago so he could have progressed. They went with the pick and made sure to finish last.

Also Dach in 2022-23 would have finished 4th scorer of the Blackhawks only 2 points away from the 3rd scorer Athanasiou and he played only 58 games while Anthanasiou played 81. So let that sink in about how bad that team was and how they made sure it would be that bad.

Ideally, he starts at 3C next season and gets his game back to where it should be without much pressure. We need to acquire a top 6 center for that to happen, though.

Ya, it would be better for him to start on the 3rd line, center or wing whatever which one. Letting him find his game. Or maybe he connects well with Demidov at camp, who knows.
