Kingston Frontenacs 2024 25 Season Thread Part Iii

LOL, thought maybe you had forgotten that one! Although the Pete’s had injuries as well I still feel with a healthy Brochu we would be chasing our 3rd consecutive OHL Title / Memorial Cup Tournament. Cheers …..
I did! I remember it being a big difference as willmore was far from ready. If they even had average goaltending they likely win the chip. Cheers

Hard not to with less than 4000 seats. Fronts had 5400 last home game.

Easter Sunday and game 1 of battle of Ontario. Use common sense.
Just to chime in I don't rembera lot of sell outs at the M Center under Mav and Springer.

But I think the big thing to remember is HISTORY. The Petes have had a lot more winning teams. BUT more importantly, there is a 3 way hate Ottawa fans have never gotten along with Kingston or Peterborough fans

Peterborough fans have no love for Ottawa Kingston

Kingston has no love for either of tht teams

First, your issue is that you are a relative newbie to the fan bases and histories of these teams.

I can personally tell you that in the past, and I think there are still some fans around, there was a lot of animosity. That was when a Petes 67 or Petes Kingston Thurs, Peterborough Friday Kingston, or Ottawa games were played and fans travelled to the games

Peterborough, at least in my time, was the only arena to ban Riley and his jersey.

Those were the days though and they had their place. The on ice prodcut was a lot more chippier and memories ran deep both on and off the ice.

For a few years a long time ago. Kingston - Oshawa games always had 5 on 5 brawls, sometimes 6 on 6.
Yeah there really was not much love between teams back in the day. But the fans sure came out.

That was when the schooll bus trips on weekends were fun LOL

Both teams still despise each other if you look back at some of the recent games.
I think we are going to see another London slaughtering of Oshawa again in a couple weeks if i was a betting man.
This was my tier list from October 1st other then Kitchener (sorry Rangers fans) i think i was fairly close on predictions.

100% agree nobody left in the east Kingston included is on the level of the knights.

Barrie/Kingston would be a better matchup than Oster letting in 7+ a night.

Kingston outplayed knights both games but still lost search it up. That to me says we don’t lose in 4. Maybe 5 or 6. Gotta win atleast 1 home game surely

Wouldn't read much into reg season games London never had a full lineup for either one.
I can see London sweeping any east team that makes it to the final but wouldn't be surprised if Oshawa
,Barrie or Kingston (whoever it is) stole one off them either in an off game.

Hate to say it but home team has won every game so far.

Odds are you are right
Well, the home team edge seems to be getting slighter every single game. Got to think the road teams are starting to get used to their away rink at this point. Pressure is definitely on the home team in game 7 and have to think the Fronts already playing a game with their season on the line has to help their nerves a bit. This one really could go either way. Go Fronts!

I don't think it's fair to say Oster would let in 7+ a game this year. Oshawa overachieved last year and went further than they should and were so battled tested by the time they got to London, there was nothing left but to be fed on.

Oshawa went 1-0-1 thus year against London, the win being in Londons barn. Am I saying Oshawa wins a 7 game series against London, no, probably not but Oshawa has the depth this year to push it at least 6 games imo.

Yep exactly hoping for a HUGE fronts win tonight but we shall see!

Looks like it's Hillebrandt in net for Barrie. I assume the injury was lower body - they've gotta try and make him move side to side to capitalize and see if he's moving slower.

Burns has been pretty disciplined all playoffs so to see him end his junior career that way is absolutely devastating. The guy was a great captain and Front and should go on to have a really solid pro career.

One guy that I don't think got any praise but played out of his mind was Cal Uens - these playoffs were probably the best 11 games he's played and with every game that went by I was thinking it's more and more likely that he's an OA next year. Heart and soul guy kinda like Heyes this year.

Great season. Losing in seven games in round 2 is a strong result.
I get what you're saying and I'm going back and forth in my head on whether I agree. On one hand they were competitive until the bitter end in an extremely tight conference, and realistically there wasn't much of a chance of winning it all with London looming.

But at the same time, they've been building for a run with this 05 group for a couple years now, and to get only one playoff series win out of it can really only be seen as a disappointment. If Kingston is content with a round 2 game 7 loss the organization will never see any success.
