Kingston Frontenacs 2024 25 Season Thread Part Iii

Th

The point is that teams are not going to be in a rush off seson to trade for OA players when there are so many in the morket.

Do you really think that London would want any of Kingstons OA or for that matter any of these teams. London will be in a rebuild Peterborough is looking for impact players Guelph have 4 OA NB has a prettuy good returning cast

My point is to say that the team is going to trade Miedema McGaowan and other playrs before training camp is not viable. None of them really have much value to a building team.

And going into the year with youyr 3rd string OA does not make sense
Just because teams have 3 05s on their roster doesn't mean that they are locked in as overagers. Guys like McGowan, Hay and maybe Miedema are upgrades on some of the 05s that may be on rosters now.

The OAs are generally moved just prior to the start of the season. I am really not sure that there will be ‘many’ good OAs avalilable. We will need to wait and see if some of the potential Barrie & Brampton very good OAs move on.
I do not know what you consider an impact player to be, but I doubt the Petes will part with the assets required for the very best OAs. From what I can see, Guelph & NB have one probable OA each. I can definitely see NB moving a couple of their 6-7 RW & 6-7 LD to acquire OA and/or import LW/LC & RD. London seems to out source an OA often.

fully agree but I am not sure you will get anything but mid - late round picks. None of these guys are star OA

Teams are going to want to wait until they see what they have in camp.

NB will be rebuild.

The challenge you guys have is the number of OA how many do you invite to camp. Which OA will get offers to AHL training camps

Hay would bring in a haul if moved.
One of the best FO guys in the league.
Coaches and Gms will overpay for that.
For sure and the leadership as well as his memorial cup experience. Also was captain of Saginaw for half of this year until he came here

Won’t be a 100pt guy but the guy all teams want in the playoffs

The battalion have successfully re-tooled. Returning just one OA, NB will have four open import/OA spots. On the roster is an OA, 8-‘06s, 6-‘07s plus 2-3 as extras or affiliates, at least 4-‘08s all selected by the middle of round two, and a couple of early picked ‘09s.
I think NB will be playing for home-ice in 2025-26, possibly contending if all of Barrie, Brampton, and Niagara do not have good fortune in the off-season.

Great. Now we have 2 good lines that should work together, still have the pickell line and Miedema 4th line with Dervin- Dervin should find him a couple times and hopefully Miedema uses his shot

For a guy with as good of a shot as he has- he never uses it.

This old guy announcer for Barrie is clueless.

How can he say there is no kicking motion on the waved off goal? One of the easier calls the refs will ever have to make. Clear as day.

Just wondering why there were o busses of fans going to Barrie

Is the booster cllub not that big or is it too expensive.

Iknow I am old but man the busses that used to go to games.

Aitcheson scores a lucky one- first time he’s done anything this series besides injure McGowan and colts up 3-2.

Must win tomorrow night

Game 1 and 2 they went. Only 30+ people would’ve been the 56 seater but colts holding onto tickets for colts fans and set aside 75 for fronts family and friends. Game 5 tough with Easter weekend and not a ton of time between then. advertising for game 7.

Puck never crossed line so don’t know how that would count

Really looked like it did clearly cross the line to me. But the ref waved it off initially, so it probably could not be over turned even though he knew the puck under the glove was across the goal line.

Would you call that lucky? really nice pull in and shoot under uronen's stick low blocker with traffic. He logs a lot of minutes for them so I am not sure you can say he hasn't done anything either.

guys that are rated top 20 NHL draft is not someone that is lucky that is a good defenceman that paid more intention to doing what is needed for the team.

For a guy supposed to go top 10 or 15 in the draft he has less points and the same amount of goals as Gage Heyes

He has not blown me away this series at all. just shot the puck from the point, Schenkel was screened and it went in. then the celebration like he won the Stanley cup game 7 double OT when it’s just game 5 to put them up 3-2.

Again. Just my opinion. I’d expect Barrie fans to think differently and we’re all entitled to our opinions.

I'm not a barrie fan, but comparing a 20 year old forward to a 17 year old D man especially in a 4 game span doesn't seem reasonable. He still has 5 points in 5 games and probably plays 30 minutes a night.

It isn't so much that he shot the puck from the point but how he did it. Many people miss those small details in the game though.
